Game works against its own strengths...
Close to level 40 now, I am disappointed that the game never grows more challenging. I never die, and I often find I continue to outpace the main story concerning leveling.

I do no side quests and just craft, gather, and do the main story. I am always over-leveled. I never face a challenge. Gear is simply given to me. (which seems dumb in a crafting type of game)

I'm doing another run through and inventing my own rules such as only using crafted gear versus the free loot given through story quests. (it's too much overpowered stuff)

I don't understand how people are finding modern gaming any fun. Doesn't anyone appreciate game economies and the mysteries and challenges of open worlds? I feel like everything is made to be a throw away mobile game, despite gains in technology.

This game has an intriguing atmosphere and some fun combat and crafting. But it doesn't seem to play to those strengths by making crafting useful and enemies more challenging. I don't imagine levels 40 to 65 getting any better. I'm starting to think I've seen all there is to see here.

65 level experiecn = 1 single 70 lvl mob disentegrates you as it has invulnerability against your staggers/knockbacks ;3

Endgame is extremely competitive for solo players , just wait for it to come (hehehe ♥♥♥) upon you

The endgame does get much more challenging solo, the big barrier is getting the gear you want.

I'll keep this in mind. I'm at level 40 now. Shouldn't take me longer than a week to finish the main story and see the expansion content.

Thanks for the replies.

I feel the same way. Am about to hit level 60 and I don't have the expac and at this point I don't think I'll spend the $50 for it. I want story and quests and crafting and exploration with some fun dungeons and world events thrown in and for me reaching level cap is the end.
I don't want to grind for gear just so I can kill more things over and over so I'll probably finish soon and while I have enjoyed the journey so far it seems way to short and I'll be sad to go.

My MSQ is still only about level 40 or so and yea there's no challenge so I quit crafting and gathering to see if it would catch up a bit but it's too late now. I am thinking I may start a new character and not do any crafting or gathering and see if that plays better but again I like crafting and gathering so that takes some of the enjoyment out for me.

i agree game is way too easy... People say "well game gets harder later" really? im level 32 this is a cake walk completely no challenge at all. Wow classic had good challenging content early on like an elite yeti to team up against or enemies that would overwhelm u if u pulled too many. I have no reason to drink health potions or consume food. too easy

At 65 yeah they will one shot you going in the danger areas that you need to go, will also be using potions and food constantly. I probably die 10 15 times are more trying to kill 50 corrupted in Reekwater trying to level my Red Great Axe. Those corrupted portals can kill you fast. Go up north to Shattered looking for the elite chest to get stuff and can get in trouble fast. There are other places especially the desert zone Brimestone.

At 32 you have not even scratched the surface.

Oh and that doesn't even include the new zones down south

It has crafting, but what MMO doesn't? That said the crafting in this game is horrible, it always has been. Crafting armor and weapons is next to worthless in New World. There are far to many desirable non crafted gear items that are just fine for probably 95% of the players.

Gear in general in this game is just treated as garbage, you pick up so much crap that you just salvage, there are thousands of "named" items that are just junk.
CookieMunsta Oct 29, 2024 @ 6:24pm
You just gotta keep going. I stopped at lv43, came back a year later and got to 60. 60 is where the game begins, now im 1500hrs+ with 2 chars at 65 havin a blast. Its Super dull before lv60, gotta find a party an grind. and you def wont be solo'n much of anything at 65, gotta build/gear right.

I have read that end game is not the strong suit for this title. I think this was a poor purchase. I'll keep the positive review for now...but will likely change to a thumbs down.

It's clearly meant to be a crafting game (which I love) but for some reason they removed any purpose for crafting. Leveling up is far too easy.

There is no risk or danger to this game and I am not one of those types who believes the game will magically improve after I've completed most of its content and am at the max level.

Yawn.

You don't have to read or respond concerning other people's threads. Just throwing that out there to you....

Your wishy washy comments are just that. Change with the wind. Don't throw nothing to me your comments are not worth a whole lot.

I restarted on different server and avoided the main quest line entirely. I just leveled up while crafting, gathering, and doing faction/settlement tasks. I focused on using my own crafted gear or drops from engaging with the world while selling and making profit on the trade post.

It is a much better experience.

Gear is harder to come by since my server doesn't have too much cheap quality gear on trade post. (this provided better challenge) The entire experience felt more organic. It is an immersive game once I focused on the experience and avoided the streamlined process to an iffy end-game.

*this is not a thread meant for argument or insults. Disagreement breeds perspective. But insulting, and a lack of tolerance will ruin any discussion.
