"New World is a unique player in the MMO space in that we’re a player driven economy. That means we do not have vendors for players to sell their gear and there’s no artificial floor or ceiling set on the cost of goods—you the players determine that! A player driven economy is really exciting, but it comes with its own challenges.

One player can destroy the market for an item by just taking the price and dropping it by 3/4 then flooding the market with their cheap goods. Boom, market gone. Mid level items are going that way now. The legacy players are dumping all their mid level mats and items wholesale or less. Add to that the new influx of old bots and there you have it. Welcome back to not so New World. Same song, different verse. It's how this game rolls.
Best thing to do is ignore the economy, craft for the fun of it and hope to sell a bit here and there. Don't make it a serious part of your game as that just leads to frustration.
dont sell for peanuts on the marketplaces because of undercutting prices on servers with more peoples ,gaining tradeskill aptitudes quicker is also needed for this season.
dont drop anything unless very close to respawning hostile mobs and to overloaded to fight.
Nope, not needed. Everyone else does just fine selling the resources they gather as well as the materials they get by salvaging stuff. That's where reasonable money can be made.- at the Trading Post. No NPC Vendor is going to give you a worthwhile price on ANYTHING. Crafting weapons and armour used to be a decent enough way to make money, but that's no longer the case. People level up too fast these days.
Tinfoil hat comment.
Won't happen. This would require giving every item in the game a price and having it vary depending on modifiers, rarity and type. There's lesser bugs they still haven't fixed that would require less work than this idea.
At least change how the salvaging works as it gives almost nothing back, and no money to speak of. Since mid level items can't be sold as there's just too many of them as noted above you can sell mats, and those are at this moment getting to their rock bottom. This leaves mid level players basically feeding the only folks with money, the bot heavy legacy players. They make all the money, corner the markets.
Add to that, true endgame items cannot be crafted. I know there is a small but vocal group of players that feel the only way to be BiS is to get items from PvP, then there's the group that wants BiS to be from PVE group play. That again leaves the master crafters at the end game having a skill set that is almost good enough, but not quite. There should be BiS end game gear that can be crafted. Why not? Afraid you wont be the cool kids anymore? What does it take away from those that choose different paths to greatness? It goes well with the thinking that you can only look good if others look bad or lesser. Just saying. Just shows how little the devs understand about MMOs in general. They want everyone to stick around and play to give little reason to on so many levels.
