Overpricing is pushing back new players!
Either Amazon is dumb, or greedy. There's no point to put the game's price so high that just don't worth for new players to buy it.
On SA, initialy the game cost around R$70,00, but now its more than R$300.
It just makes no sense, since its the SAME GAME WITH THE SAME LACK OF CONTENT.

As result, servers are empty and losing players each week.

Good job amazon. U guys are really stupid in this busines field.

Regional pricing iirc is an issue with steam.

It may be quiet in SA, and a couple of other regions, maybe. It's pretty busy on other regional New Start servers. I play on EU, mainly, but have a character on both NA East and NA West, and always plenty of people around.

If servers are empty, how are they still "losing players" each week? I mean, considering they'd have to have bought the game in the first place, I can't see why the latest pricing would cause existing players to leave.

Don't be stupid, that's not what I'm talking about.
The players who are still on the SA server are the ones who bought the game when it was originally released, when the prices were in line with what was offered in the game. But now, Amazon thinks it has a super product on its hands and can charge whatever it wants. Trust me, I don't give this game 2 months to be dead again. Or do you think that ~45k players for an MMORPG is a good number?
i love these threads because i can just point out that WoW is selling a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 90USD MOUNT and ppl are buying it up liker crazy. The game it's self is not badly priced (NW) but some areas have a crap economy when it comes to the USD and thus they get hire prices.

I went to the AH Today and an Item was 10 times the cost and there was nothing else to do about it. What if they are doing it for their Faction? Why is the AH so lean on options and items and set prices or where is the price history, like other games have. Leaving the game because you can't craft, or you can't reach an area that has the item or it takes 5 players to get them, when you can't play the game because there are not 5 players to get into the item arena? I'm on dislike mode because you don't hear of anything being done. Fix these issues Amazon, CEO, DEVS, Stockholders.

Actually, there is a point. But we don't like it, so we are trying to ignore it: Let's say you had a very buggy game that has not been moving very far during the past three years, and you know you won't invest a lot into it anymore, there is nothing big on the horizon and you'd want to basically get another wave of cash in after all this time. In this scenario setting the price higher yields the larger amount of money compared with betting on people sticking around for many months and spending on the ingame store.

If you look at steamDB, countries like mine (NZ), Australia, Canada, USA, UK etc all pay top dollar, all others pay a lot less. I still agree though that this update should be free and it's the reason 90% of the playerbase dipped. Noone to play with and just a general sad look on the way gaming is today. Amazon should do better.

Your issue is that the conversion rate of R$ to USD is ~6:1. At R$ 70, it meant you were buying the game for around $11 (when it cost $40? on release, I believe). Regional pricing is generally good, but it causes problems when people from differently priced regions can play together. There are especially issues with bots when you have regions where the game is dramatically cheaper.

On the flipside, R$ 300 is likely too much, it's something like 8 WoW subscriptions in Brazil (which I believe are R$ 40/month), which is likely not worth it.

I personally believe that the reason the player count dissolved initially and will do so even quicker this time around is that the game is built on digital quicksand which they actually added to with this new re-release. There is a full on dash to the end game - and there is no end game past a single trial, a solitary island of people playing whackamole, an economy built around legacy players and bots.
The initial storyline has nice cutscenes now but was that a good use of their $$? There is too much experience given for everything so most never actually bond with the game. It's not a real MMO, it's not survival, the PvP is sad and companies cherry pick only the best for participation, the towns are incredibly poorly laid out - need I go on?

Add to all of the above, one single dlc in over three years, really? It has little to do with pricing, having to pay whatever. It is a shame some need to pay so much but frankly if I hadn't bought the game years ago I wouldn't consider it a very good use of my money. Better than a movie, but that's about it. If you plan to spend a few hundred hours in NW then price isn't the issue. Folks who think they should get something for nothing is a real issue. Trust me, getting something for free wont make you any happier than you are now.

By January it will be back to a very quiet place to play. Then AGS/Amazon will probably have to figure out what to do next in lieu of actually adding content and competing with the other MMOs who have a 15-20 year head start in a gaming community that is a bit stale. They promised a roadmap but so far, nada. That should give one pause.

So what is your ping to USWest server from the UK? I live in that area and look at ping to your area of the world and it is usually like 300+ though granted, lately in the game ping swing is a thing. :steamdeadpan: curious minds. In ESO I always had a toon parked in the EU server for playing odd hours and they were a fun bunch. This game has no Cyrodiil, too bad about that.

I can understand all points you guys gave me. But still, the game don't worth the price!!!
They should lower it, to fill all servers, and then get their main recipes on cosmetics and other non p2w amenities.

I think ti's overall industry inflation. Look at even low-popularity games like Suicide Squad, Forspoken, and Redfall.

Many people cry in their topics but this topic is by far the most ridiculous...

Yesterday I thought to myself that the biggest problem with the game is that everything is available much too quickly and too cheaply...
You come out of the campaign alone with enough money to afford 700 gear, gems cost next to nothing... I only farmed for 2 days and will soon be best in slot...

and then I read such a topic here????

ridiculous.

edit: I probably stopped reading his rubbish too soon ^^
he really means the price from the game ???? .. sorry, I didn't expect that... there are actually people who complain that developers want to be paid for their work.

even more ridiculous
