The game will die again
The game will die again, and legacy players are to blame. The aeternum (soft reboot) should have brought the dying game to life. And as a legacy player, I was happy to see all the new faces and players. I joined and started leveling on freshstart. It was enjoyable, to experience the game again. But now 10 days later. All the fresh servers became another playground for legacy warring companies.

The gatekeeping of content, especially war, is pushing new players away from the game and console players onto console-only servers. They bring over their static roaster to freshstarts to fight each other yet again, leaving no room for newcomers.
I'm in a war roaster, but I'm tired of fighting the same group of people.

It happened before, we pushed the majority of the player base out of servers, and I see the same thing happening yet again. We, players, haven't learned our lesson.

people are leaving the game and it isnt because more experienced players are winning wars. its because the end game is really bad. pve = bad. pvp = the same its been for years. theres been 1 opr map for 3 years....

Honestly just sounds like you're trying to garner sympathy for yourself for buying the deluxe edition, even though you knew better. Self control's a ♥♥♥♥♥.

It is the games fault. Endgame PvP, war, is designed so that an extremely small fraction of the playerbase can access it. The companies that typically own territories play on multiple servers, have been grinding incredibly hard in PvP since release, and are extremely well established. A new company is going to have a hell of a time even attempting to get involved, much less new players.

This game needs endgame PvE that's worth revisiting, and endgame PvP that isn't gatekept so heavily.

so rather being upset about not being slotted in wars and wars being gatekept (your original post) youre upset that skilled players are beating unskilled players?
yeah, they have no chances, they get zero war experience. and legacy companies are not slotting newbies into wars... wars is the only endgame content in NW. pve basically doesn't exist. opr we had the same map since release. only time we see new players is when we steamroll them during race.
This. Completely this. Have 700 hours in the game and I would have a hard time getting slotted into the war. Expecting new players to get involved is crazy.

Most People play to max level, doing some pve on the way and move on and there is absolutly nothing wrong with that. Not every MMO has to be a freakn Lifetime Job.
If youre looking for a friendly community, polished PVP and massive Endgame Content, you should take a look at Guild Wars 2.

also...this game had 5k concurrent players world wide before the fresh servers launched. are you suggesting those 5k players are running everything across all regions?
AGS published some numbers that said only 4% of players are like OP here and war on a regular basis and yes, it's like real life almost, very few rule pretty much everything.
Wars are somehow even more gatekept than I originally thought then. Don't understand how anyone defends this as being acceptable.

+1 Agreed.

Also I saw a lot of hate against xbox users and ps users, Totally un-needed.

My Company is Letting People take Regions lol Because otherwise they will leave

Yea, you can already see the no lifers stripping the server of resources, trying to charge old world prices for kit, frelling sad but I agree it will inevitably lead to players bleeding away.

Dumb as frell to still have PvP control over element's of the PvE game loop. AGS appears to have learnt very little.

No surprise there.

no, the game is going to die because a bulk of the playerbase don't want pvp and once you hit lvl cap there's no point in playing PVE.
Who dont want pvp? whats the point playing this game, There is no PVP noob Its just stronger AI in PVP mode that looks like people

Good for your company. I'm disgusted by my company and some others, because they are unwilling. and I see people bleed out of the server...

Well you were right, game is dead again. If you aren't doing war, it is just boring at end game. And the more players leave the less wars there is. Don't invest your time and money here.

I believe their LOTR MMO will die in the same way, they just don't understand the market or gaming in general and never even tried to earn the trust of players. If New World showed anything it is that you cannot put any hope unto AGS.

This post was so accurate that I thought it was a new post, it was made months ago. After seeing how this game is managed, I will NOT be playing their LOTR mmo. Here is why I quit NW, I''m a PVE player and the only worthwhile content to run are 3 mutated dungeons on rotation and the Gorgon raid. The M3 dungeons doesn't have adequate loot even after the new update, and is extremely hard to get a group for. The best loot is in the Gorgon raid but unless you're part of a big company with competent players, its next to impossible to put a random group together. If you do get a group together, everyone will die at Echidna and rage quit without ever receiving a single piece of loot.
Dead, dying or whatever I am remaining. I still play almost 8 hours daily and believe all the pent-up frustrations are coming from players with little to no experience.

Most players now want a faster gaming time to level XP and it was made available. In comparison to when NW began and you really had to learn the game, play all the time to level up it appears that the novices now rule the asylum.

I am all for social integration with skills and that's why we have the M1-m3 dungeons so the beginners can learn, level up, get better gear and ultimately join in the additional aspects of the game. This includes wars, OPR, Hive, Wurm etc.

Yet a common occurrence is that some beginners (not all) won't simply help themselves and subsequently complain nonstop about the game and how it is imposed upon them.
