Trade skills and required xp
TL;DR Has there been a meaningful rework to the trade skills leveling, or is it the same as vanilla where it takes literally hundreds of hours to level a single skill to max, assuming that you gathering all the mats by yourself?

I'm not going to lie. I'm fairly jaded with this game. I quit playing after 1300 hours when i finally got tired of broken promises, and no new meaningful content.

Now with this new release a few of my friends are begging me to come back and pvp with them. The issue is that they all did a fresh start as they told me that the legacy servers are pretty much dead,

Now the problem i have here is that i spent literally over a thousand hours getting my main toon to where he is with maxed trade skills in almost every area, as well as solid pvp gear, and bis pve gear. I do not want to have to do that again.

So, the question is have they done anything to the leveling speed and out right ridiculous amount of xp, materials, and money it takes to level a trade skill?

I can't be certain but the trade skills do seem to provide more XP on fresh start characters than before. I hated leveling trade skills on my main character, but as soon as I get back to town with a full bag on a new toon, I craft what I can, and seem to get a couple dozen skill levels. They may have cranked up XP for everything on the fresh start servers as there are a lot of comments about the main story quests giving tons of XP. Enjoy it while you can.

The early levels were never an issue. It's exponential. The last 20 levels is like the same xp requirement as the first 230.

I appreciate the response. But idt I'll be returning until someone can point me to a page from the developers specifically addressing this. I was unable to find anything myself

Nope, harvesting skills move faster but trade is about the same and never was that bad to start with.

There are drops that give trade skill experience though.

It's a little better but making real money is already taken over by the old guard. Pretty much all the lower tier items are not worth selling already as game is dropping a ton of moderately nice gear so not dependent on buying for lower levels. So basically you are too late already. Will be interesting to see if anything changes but new folks are hurrying pricing to the bottom very quickly, like prices cut in half then half again. Folks are selling stuff for below their cost. You know, just the usual with a goofy player economy. You can already get starmetal tools for 200gold or less. Oh well.

armoring, weapon smithing, and stuff like that was abysmal to level. so much time to gather all the mats, or money to just by them. the journals were a thing last time i played. assuming thats what you mean by drops that give xp for certain crafting skills. as far as buffing it a few years ago, if they havent done anything sense then its what i remember it being, it wasnt totally unbearable to do it once, but i dont think i have it in me to do it again, especially since the only thing of note they added was a pvp zone, and a raid that people say is basic as hell.

Oh well. thanks for the info guys.
