It is the same in New World. I completed Brimstone sands and Angry Earth in 6 hours with a maxed out character and random gear.
Every Brimstone and Angry earth MSQ gives you 14 000 XP per mission (and there are like 40 missions) which I never needed because I was already max level before beating the base game MSQ.
If you are max level, the non-group stuff is easy solo and all zones become trivial. Only the later zones are difficult if you aggro 5 enemies at once.
You want to speed level to 65 doing the MSQs, go ahead, who cares. You want to explore areas, just kill mobs, craft, maybe do a side quest or two, take your time leveling, go ahead. If you want to take your time doing a few of the MSQs and do other stuff in between, go ahead.
No one is FORCING anyone to get to max level in New World. MSQs are just the most efficient way to get there, if that's your thing. If not, dont even start them.
I just finished levelling every one of my weapons to 20. I really dislike the magic/ranged weapons but the melee weapons just mince everything.
For a guy named "Grimwit".. you sure seem to be lacking in the wit department.
Nobody is telling you to do or do not use the MSQ to level.
The TOPIC of the conversation Is that the MSQ gives TOO MUCH experience to the point its trivializing the ENTIRE Game. People are 10+ levels ahead of the zone they are in, and the game is presenting ZERO effort and ZERO challenge.
Now tell me pumpkin.. how long do you predict this game to last is EVERYONE is max level day 3?
How long? What.. a week.. tops .. before everyone gets bored and leaves? Just like last time.
Now what happens when everyone leaves (again) because everyone is bored (again) and there's no content (again.)
DO I REALLY need to quote the phrase "Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it." to you... Mr "Wit"?
mmo are suppose to take a little bit longer to level lmao
Sure. :D
Elder Scrolls Online then. You can go from lvl1 to max level in a few hours when they have a double XP event (like they have now for a whole month). That is an MMO.
Games that gatekeep you content by filling up bars with mindless repetitive stuff are something of the past (at least if you want to make money). That is why they redid the levelling experience in New World as well.
Nothing says you have to do the main quest. If you rather pick flowers and cut tree for 20 hours first, that option is still possible.
This isn't wow you absolutely toolbox.
You need slow exp to ensure efficacy/longevity of open world, crafting and gathering.
If you trivialise it, you end up with with raidlogging and nothing else.
Amazon BTFO their own game design by killing the pace of this game.
