Extremely slow loading time for game assets and textures since update

I am unsure if I am the only one who experiences this, but since the new update, whenever I try to login to a character - it often takes 5min, some even 10min to load in all the assets and textures properly. Mind you I am not referring to the loading screen, but rather my character is loaded into the world, the world is mostly empty.

you're not the only one. It started for me yesterday and makes the game unplayable for me. I played it a couple of years ago and it was running fine. Now, even with a better GPU it looks worse and runs like treacle in towns. Shame as I was having fun.

sounds like you guys need to fresh install and change your nvidia settings to performance.

i have the same problem. I even reinstalled my pc fully with windows and everything but the prbolem still presists and i have no clue how to fix it.

Up until maybe 2 days ago, I had no delays in the game loading assets, then it started taking its time. It's only a couple of minutes, so it's no big deal - I hope it gets fixed though, obviously. Once it renders everything, the game runs as smooth as silk for however many hours I play.

Yeah I am having the same problem as y'all. I was able to play for the 1st 3 Days since the release of Aeternum and now the game is 100% unplayable. It takes several minutes just to boot up the game and go through loading screens and occasionally when going to load into a server/world it'll briefly show the character selection menu and than like after a minute or 2 it goes back to loading into a world also the Play button is grayed out when that happens. The 1st time this all happened I went to load in and nothing was loaded and I was falling through the world and only could see an infinite flat ocean and after like 5 minutes or so I just straight up died. It respawned me after say 3 minutes or something and nothing was loading still. I've attempted to play 3 times now and still not working even after attempting to fix and this most recent time said I couldn't connect to the server due to possibly having a bad bandwidth or something. I have good Internet and was able to play for 3 days with decent connection the game was laggy and what not when near highly populated area like the 1st hub the game takes you to. I've tired doing some troubleshooting and what I've tried is restarting the game, checking integrity of game files, uninstalling and reinstalling the game and even checked for updates on everything and nothing has fixed it. I am almost starting to think the servers aren't capable of handling crossplay. I know there was a windows update not long ago and I keep getting a driver error when booting up my pc and after some research that error is for an RGB driver and I doubt that would effect just New World. I also think I was able to play the day after i got the update so idk a fix would be great especially since I love the game and those of use stuck with a bug are getting left behind in terms of progress. Oh I also want to state that since this has been happening my game almost always crashes at the 1st attempt of starting up the game. It might even do it after every other time I try to boot up the game but I'm not 100% sure since I haven't been keeping track. I also want to say that I do have it installed on an SSD and that I have a decent pc to run the game.

I'm having an issue with long load times, textures not loading at all, and occasionally i'll get the corrupt install notification.
I just finished doing a fresh install of the game and it's still happening.

Same here, I have a 3090, and an i9-10900k. Should be running it easily, but since this update it takes 10 minutes just to load in, and I also get the corrupted install/suspicious software notification. Read online sometimes it can be Overwolf? Not sure how true that is as it is in line with the ToS etc but struggling out of ideas, and making me want to play it less and less which is a shame.

Same problem here. I don't think it's a client side problem though, it is clearly a server load problem from what I see. I take forever to load only to eventually fail, usually receiving a "server timed out", "lost connection" message or icon, or some bizarre corrupt files or illegal program detected message.

Long and short of it is, this is entirely on them. They didn't prepare properly, can't handle the load and it is cause severe client load and client stability problems.
