Nothing really changed.
Added swimming & other relatively non-essential stuff. Archetypes for new players - you basically start with level 50 in 3 or 4 professions.
New cinematic, dialogues, increased gear score, matchmaking and new raid. It's basically a patch rather than a re-vamped game. Relatively big, but still a patch.
A bit improved UI, better gamepad support. That's it.
for console players it's new world + the expansion in one package plus swimming and a new UI
for steam players it's new world + swimming + a new UI. you still need to purchase the expansion seperately
