Ancient server tecnology, they cant just increase the server capacity, you'll play a powerpoint slideshow. Maybe it was good 20 years ago, but there is a reason while most of the MMO today are using a cluster server and youre not tied to a specific one inside the cluster.
I really thought New World looks great and I just wanted to try it out. But now I don't know if I want to play it anymore.
Dude, this is exactly why New World lost 99% of its players last year, and all they've done is make things worse with the $15 fee... What the hell were they thinking?
2K server capacity in 2022? What a joke. There are games with better online functionality (like Elden Ring) that aren't even MMOs. Dividing players into tiny 2K servers with no way to interact with players in other servers whatsoever is a ridiculously unacceptable flaw. And then there's the 1,000+ queues...
The funny thing is you need to log in to transfer to another server. There isn't even an option to change servers from the main menu, so you're forced to wait hours in a 1,000+ queue on a tiny 2K server just to be able to transfer to another server, which will be full in a matter of hours too as more old and new players try to log in.
This needs to change or New World will never reach its potential.
a. They LACK the necessary KNOWLEDGE (?) ;-) ... or ...
b. someone simply "denied" them the access to the proper, modern technology :-) ... or ...
c. the product (read "game") was built on a completely wrong foundation :-)
None of those are valid excuses. This is completely unacceptable for a AAA MMO with a $500 million/year budget.
Valhalla is nice anyways.
