I'll wait for holiday sales.. or maybe even later. The roadmap seems to point only on PvP content. I don't like PvP so if they shift focus back on PvP, I'll play something else :)
But it's been 2 weeks since I stopped playing, and I'm now playing Guild Wars 2 again. And they have even bigger sales on their expansions, up to 75%.
It was such a simple marketing strategy; put the game on sale while you have the maximum number of returning players on launch day to hook them in, not wait 1 month later after they've stopped playing. But they can't even do that.
And the roadmap they provided only promises new seasonal PvP servers. I'm not sure it's what people wanted. Most people prefer PvE but they all quit because the PvE content is lacking. It's really sad IMO cuz it could have been great game but they didn't delivered enough updates. All updates were just reworking of current features and a console port. It disappointed many players for sure. And i don't know if we can trust Amazon to bring it back on track.
Yeah sounds like winning conditions for making sales, well only if the people some how have Stockholm Syndrome to this game.
Better yet imagine having millions of sales, and ruining it so bad that hardly anyone comes back.
3 for 3 Scamazon, soon to be shutdownazon games .
I don't know who making decisions at AGS but he must be hell of a stupid!
The issue with this game is that for 3 years, they didn't offered much content, bug fix and balance both in PVP and PvE. So everyone got tired of playing for multiple reasons. They solely focused on their stupid console port while letting PC playerbase die. That was such a big mistake but greedyness is the reason behind those terrible decisions.
New world could have done great in both PvP and PvE but greed for money ruined it. They can still save it but i doubt most people would come back after initial disappointment.
Plus apparently they are have 3 month seasons and focusing on fresh start servers every 3 months. I don't know about anyone else but 3 months doesn't seem like a long time at all to start things over, unless they really turn up leveling on everything.
Don't reward their greed with your USD. The only thing this game it's current state deserves is an uninstall and a negative Steam review.
Steam is finally taking action and creating policies that will prevent these developers from selling empty promises. AGS products will have to change course or be removed from Steam.
It's no surprise AGS finally delivered a half-baked roadmap right after Steam's announcement. Players would be eligible for full refunds if they didn't deliver.
Their time is up. They can't make quality games and they won't be on Steam much longer. No one is going to play their dogsh!t afterwards.
"Let's go off-platform and play that new AGS release!" said no one ever.
