DLC finally on sale, anyone buying it?
I've been waiting for it to go on sale, now that it is not sure if I want to pull the trigger. I see they made a patch to help some with pvp - nerfing hatchets some I believe but correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be nice to see if there was some sort of update or roadmap for the future of this game but it appears that they are just letting this game wear itself out with the same recycled events and such

LOL We already have the DLC. Road map was posted recently on main page.

Not big enough of a deal IMO. It's 1 year old and for more than a year, no update dropped really. They only worked for a console port. I don't see any reason for me to pay for this as I don't own a console. And year old content usually drops more during sales especially in games that don't sell too well lol.

I'll wait for holiday sales.. or maybe even later. The roadmap seems to point only on PvP content. I don't like PvP so if they shift focus back on PvP, I'll play something else :)

If it had gone on sale during the console launch, I would have bought it immediately.

But it's been 2 weeks since I stopped playing, and I'm now playing Guild Wars 2 again. And they have even bigger sales on their expansions, up to 75%.

It was such a simple marketing strategy; put the game on sale while you have the maximum number of returning players on launch day to hook them in, not wait 1 month later after they've stopped playing. But they can't even do that.

Yeah i agree. They should have put it on sale at launch. Most people quit already and those who didn't bought it before won't buy it now. I also changed my mind about buying it. It's too little too late. I'll keep playing to finish main quest and quit probably. Good job Amazon :)

Yeah that was very strange to me as well. And then when I did a fresh start of original game with a new toon I discovered they moved some things to the dlc.
Cmdo.Delta Nov 27, 2024 @ 6:57pm
Yes some areas are now locked into the DLC lol.
And the roadmap they provided only promises new seasonal PvP servers. I'm not sure it's what people wanted. Most people prefer PvE but they all quit because the PvE content is lacking. It's really sad IMO cuz it could have been great game but they didn't delivered enough updates. All updates were just reworking of current features and a console port. It disappointed many players for sure. And i don't know if we can trust Amazon to bring it back on track.

Imagine a game, taking away content you paid for, making you a second class citizen, and adding functional game mechanics and systems that you need to pay for, all the time while not fixing the game breaking bugs, ignoring the player base you had, banning people for little to no reasons including mass report banning exploits, ignoring the content they said they would add on a road map of lies, and then changing the game to something else and totally ignoring the current platform.

Yeah sounds like winning conditions for making sales, well only if the people some how have Stockholm Syndrome to this game.

Better yet imagine having millions of sales, and ruining it so bad that hardly anyone comes back.

3 for 3 Scamazon, soon to be shutdownazon games . :steammocking:

Yup and roadmap season 7 only praise PvP.. if i remember well, this game had to be PvP focused and they changed their mind when they saw how much toxic PvP oriented games are. So why the hell they focus on PvP now? Because only PvP players still play it? Yes of course, majority of players are PvE but they don't have anything to do end game so they all quit for greener pasture... Maybe releasing PvP oriented content is the logical way to attract back your biggest part of the playerbase....?!

I don't know who making decisions at AGS but he must be hell of a stupid!

I put in 400 hours on my main account and I mainly only did OPR but it got old fast especially since nothing new has been added in 3 years. I would have liked to have seen PVP vendors with PVP gear and balancing but it was too much to ask for. I would have liked to have seen what the game could have been should it have stuck to it's original concept but cry babies wanted PVE so we're stuck with a mediocre MMO that does nothing well.

I was waiting for it to go on sale and was going to buy it. Then I saw they will be spending a lot of time working on the PvP aspect and possibly doing more PvE stuff. Guess I will wait and see what happens and just wait for the next time it goes on sale. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lol they swapped from PvP to PvE because they understood how toxic is PvP. Their first playtest proven to be an awful experience for most players when PvP was their main focus.
The issue with this game is that for 3 years, they didn't offered much content, bug fix and balance both in PVP and PvE. So everyone got tired of playing for multiple reasons. They solely focused on their stupid console port while letting PC playerbase die. That was such a big mistake but greedyness is the reason behind those terrible decisions.

New world could have done great in both PvP and PvE but greed for money ruined it. They can still save it but i doubt most people would come back after initial disappointment.

Plus apparently they are have 3 month seasons and focusing on fresh start servers every 3 months. I don't know about anyone else but 3 months doesn't seem like a long time at all to start things over, unless they really turn up leveling on everything.

AGS is an anti-consumer developer and publisher. They are all about squeezing every possible dollar out of their customers despite delivering a disappointing product.

Don't reward their greed with your USD. The only thing this game it's current state deserves is an uninstall and a negative Steam review.

Steam is finally taking action and creating policies that will prevent these developers from selling empty promises. AGS products will have to change course or be removed from Steam.

It's no surprise AGS finally delivered a half-baked roadmap right after Steam's announcement. Players would be eligible for full refunds if they didn't deliver.

Their time is up. They can't make quality games and they won't be on Steam much longer. No one is going to play their dogsh!t afterwards.

"Let's go off-platform and play that new AGS release!" said no one ever.
