I guess we'll see just how popular PvP actually is when people can't un-flag.
BUT they are basically asking everyone to re-start their characters YET AGAIN.
AND they will probably not separate these new worlds from legacy worlds from OPR matchmaking.
Since they have never properly banned cheaters and exploiters, all the PvP development is really just to lure dummies in to see the new game mode long enough for them to realize AGS still hasn't got proper PvP administration, and then leave. But at least there will be a little bump to the player counts for a while.
without mythical rewards only the most hostile kind of PVP-Predators will spend most of their limited playtime on a ultramayhem nightmare
i sincerly hope that this new distraction focus comes in addition to other new content not instead.
the past years had shown that balance and preventing exploits are not ags strenght with so much distraction on time-limited contend that weakness will grow.
I do have reservations about the potential splitting of the player base, wont really see till it happens but they plenty of potential downsides if not handled correctly.
PvP really needs love and the concern about splitting the playerbase is real. However, also consider that initially, a lot of players purchased NW thinking there would be quality PvP built into the game but there seemed to only be the bare minimum.
I bet a decent amount of those players have yet to return but will consider returning to the upcoming pvp seasonal server. A few of my friends who didnt return to the fresh server will absolutely return to a crafting focused forced drop open world pvp experience.
Thats not how you get peoples monies and time every 3 months.
Also, it seems gamers like fresh start situations a lot.

I wonder if that means to the next seasonal server or to the regular servers? It would probably entice more people to try it out if it somehow carried over to their main server. Maybe account wide cosmetics?
Either way. Sounds fun. Imo. Making it temporary is probably a good move to maintain pops on the pvp server and legacy. Won't get my hopes high since they find a way to botch things. But if implemented well.. ouuwee
Extra slot or not is irrelevant. New server type will more than likely mean "fresh start server" and no transfer in. And if it's a "seasonal world" that means seasonal wipes. Don't see them allowing you to transfer out and then transfer in a fully geared toon into a fresh seasonal world next season. What would be the point of "seasonal world" if your toon and everything you make is essentially permanent by transferring?
No this scheme is to try to make lowbie PvP and extend gameplay by making you do it all over again every season. Except it will also probably just encourage RMT to let p2w players gear up fast or zoom their crafting to craft gear quickly since going out into the open world to farm bosses for gear will actually be dangerous in a FFA environment.
creating a new toon on a new char slot in addition is not forcing any remaining players to abandon old toons.
of course i would consider to create a new toon if decent skins will be exclusivly available and i could chose another new hairstyle before barbershop will allow me to update 2 of the existing toons.
i never meant that i want to transfer an existing toon into a freshstart world that will decay after a few months by design.
the second wave of freshstart was questers paradise the third wave will be gankers paradise with no option to do quests on your own so i said that i would likely pass to join a limited nightmare that will end in a wipe.
the rest of remaining first wave of fresh start at least on eu central from kronos wont like to be merged with Aaru at all ,as most people had hoped that console players would be allowed to transfer into legacy as an infusion.
