The players killed PvP by not participating in it. Hence the rework and more solo friendly game style. Most players whine about PvP even when they buy a PvP based mmo

i only have seen a temporary disabled ability or perk on loggin screen i might never has used while needed to train hatchet years ago only for one toon because i got annoyed from the sound using a hatchet so badly.

TOXIC PvP players are what kill PvP in a game. People can only withstand the abuse only so long. The ones that play anyway have a compulsion that overpowers their dignity.

However, it's more likely that you're playing in a legacy server. The crossplay servers have a lot more players and activity. Just remember to be civil and it'll survive much longer.

Hatchet was overpowered as f in pvp. Left click spam on a skill that has 20% haste and grit for 12 seconds while also teleporting to you. Sounds like a skill issue on your part.
