How long does maintenance last

I started playing again after 2 years when maintenance would take 7 hours, how long will this be?

Easy explaination: You can sit in the character selection or starting screen while the maintenance is on, you just can't press play. Steam only counts if the app is running or not.

they did announce it on twitter. Just scroll down from their page. They said about 2 hours. It started about 1 hour 17 mins ago. Servers should be up in 43 mins

I don't think they maintain that very well. I tried to go there during the first and second week after launch to get news and had the same experience of nothing really being added. Not sure what their primary form of communication is, but it's being done less than optimal. Yesterday it also said maintenance and then the ingame message suddenly went away a few minutes before it was supposed to start. Then it reappeared today first with the wrong date and only later with the correct one.

Just look at the official page https://www.newworld.com and "News".
Every update or maintenance is posted there and also the duration.
