Man I wish they'd just shut the game down and release the source code or whatever is needed to make private servers. If the community got a hold of the required files they could certainly make an amazing game and gather us all up again.
I really wanted to love the cash grab and it has such good bones. It's an absolute tragedy they're letting such a great game die..

Why would it be any different than the Amazon version without modifying half the game? I am pretty lost on how you think someone can just mod a game this size with little effort. Also you know the engine is open source which means anyone is free to build a better New World if they so wish. In which case it would be smarter to just build a new game entirely. Somehow I doubt anyone with the time and resources is interested in doing it for charity these days.

I disagree.

Even though the community probably has better ideas on what to add, fix, etc... AGS has the funds. Having the funds would mean they can pay people to work solely on this game without them having to have another job, taking their focus off this game. What they need to do is hire more capable individuals that have a passion for these types of games that listen to feedback from the community.

Amazon is like a shark. A shark cant stop swimming or it will die. NW has been farmed and is in the past. Amazon has to feed or it will die. There will be no money, time or effort spent by Amazon on this game. NW, its mangled carcass bleeding, riddled with open wounds, quivers on the ground as Amazon slogs away.

I'm a fierce supporter of New World, and i believe that in the hands of the community the game could reach the perfection people is looking for.

Unfortunaly Amazon will never release their baby, they will prefer keep servers up even with 2 players.

The game was extremely mediocre even during the launch time hype. Why would anyone bother making a private server for such a boring game I have no idea. Better make a new single player indie game instead

The bans are arbitrary depending on the mood of the moderator at the time. I post something stupid or humorous, but harmless,"your butt hurt" in response to an angry post and get banned. I have had several bans. They are the shameful acts of a bully. The Goliath Amazon and its toadie employees.

Here is one:

Ya its Amazon. I have never been banned on another forum. Never had a warning. I post the same. If there are no amazon moderators on NW steam then who keeps banning me for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I can tell some one that their "butt hurt" on any other another steam forum, but not here. Amazon sets the rules. Its still personal censorship and its time to change the laws.

Its time to take down all of big tech. They are killing the planet. 4% of greenhouse emissions come from AI. That is expected to be 10% by 2050. Amazon is one of the biggest culprits, processing data in hundreds of massive data centers, and we cant afford the heat.
