Joining a Faction?
I've been reading a few comments each day. I keep reading stuff like: You have to join a Faction by lvl 10 or something like that.

I'm at lvl 37 and I've not even though about joining a Faction. As a trader/crafter it looks some items you have to get from the Town Faction Carts.

So, Do you have to Join a Faction at some point? I don't know. You tell me?

thanks

If you want access to faction items yes

You can keep playing the game without joining one, but it's a silly decision to make.
I am about the same level as you, joined purple faction. There are benefits to joining a faction , including the faction vendor for armour and items. However , you most definitely don't have to join one from what I can tell so far.
Where you might miss out if you don't join a faction is the pvp side. If you want to do pvp at all, you need to be in a faction.

I think the Fort PVP would be fun when they get the lag fixed. But unless the game dies to 100 pvp players per server. I would never get picked to battle.

Give me a few advantages to being in a Faction for Crafting. Maybe 4 or 5. Or 1 big one that I would be an idiot to miss. ... uh wait .........

thanks for the replies

Technically you don't have to join a faction at all. But then again, the game has a strong focus on PvP and without joining a faction there will be no PvP. You also won't get any perks of being in a faction, like being in a company, lower fast travel cost to faction territory, transferring items between storage of different settlements, faction quests (which are repeatable quests, giving XP and territory standing and faction currency, faction vendor for equipment and some crafting resources that you only get there.

There really is no point in not picking any faction, you are only handicapping yourself in every possible way by not picking a faction and not having PvP available at all either. There are no advantages of picking no faction, like zero. Only disadvantages as you are missing out on a bunch of stuff.

Pvp isn't just large Fort war battles. There are smaller scale things too. But I believe you are missing out on benefits by not joining a faction. You can join a faction and not take part in pvp at all.

Ok, between you 3 guy I'm going to join one. This is 1 I need now. (transferring items between storage of different settlements). I'm trading in 3 different towns now and will be in more later.

thanks, off to join

Wait how do you transfer items between storage settlements? I don't see a way to do that?

your faction needs to own both locations in where you have stuff. so if youre in windward and you have stuff in everfall, you can look at everfall storage while in windward storage and pay gold to get stuff out of everfall into your inventory.

I mean you can't join a company unless you do. The games built around being in a faction, and a company. Think you're gimping yourself by not picking one. My 2 cents.
