I think AGS is in a position to introduce mounts with different functions that are possibly unique to the game aside from semi-permanent speed buffs.
I don't entirely mind inspecting, but I also don't see a current point at the moment. PvE-wise, I don't think there's a DPS check yet to justify having one and for PvP, normally I'd use inspect to see whether the opponent has gear I want, whether it's worth it, but since the risks have been nullified since Alpha, I don't think it would apply as much. Still not against it though.
Fair point, I think the inspect feature may just be something I personally like, rather than a need to have in the game, I mainly just think it's cool to be able to see what gear other people are using.
mounts are not wanted or needed ingame
That's a good point, but I think min/maxing gear will happen regardless, there will still be guides / sites that show your best in slot and how to fully min/max, I don't think inspecting will really make much of a difference in that, but I do see how it would effect your chances at getting in groups.
That means absolutely nothing, I guarantee they'll add mounts to the game once they add more zones and think they would be right doing so.
