They aren't static, and precious mines will eventually disappear for you if you are farming the same spot for too long.

I would say most base materials like iron and hemp respawn between 5-10 minutes.

I read somewhere that iron veins' respawn time is between 8-16 minutes depending on luck (there's some random variance) and size of the vein (small, medium, large; smaller = faster). Seems about right to me. Higher tier materials have longer respawn times.

And i find that if you're right next to a gathering node of any sort when it respawns, it very well might not display on your screen at all. I was camping an area with about five Wyrdwood trees that I chopped about fifteen minutes prior because I knew it would respawn soon-ish and I needed just a few more wood. A few minutes sitting there, and some random other player came by and chopped all of the trees...that all didn't look spawns on my screen.

That's not true, they do not disappear.
