Also, fire staff is a range weapon, and rapier have tobs of dodge an iframes, so if you are good with your timing and positioning you can play pvp on light armor.
Key thing if you want to do it this way is to KITE your in light they are in heavy use your rolling, and your movement abilties with rapier to keep them at a distance then hit them with range attacks, this works little better with a musket or a bow though.
when folk realize crafting plays a huge role in pvp, things will change.
rifles/bows, bullets/arrows, potions, food, suddenly will change wars.
seems you must have banned all the folks who know this.
or we didnt buy because we knew we would be banned, lol.
I'm leveling as rapier/gauntlet but day after day I get more reasons to change entirely.
The deflect and counter more often then not doesn't deflect and I still get the damage, the quickstep (whatever it's called, first grace tree ability) does the exact same (most of the time I get damaged anyway) and is only good as an animation cancel, the gauntlet has the pillar bug and the passive that gives mana after 3 quick hits is bugged as well, I tried the first passive for the spherical aoe which supposedly increases damage on targets lower than 50% and it doesn't seem to do anything.
If you're telling me that the counter isn't even landing in pvp because of short range I have to wonder if I miserably failed in choosing my weapons.
One good thing about New World is it is pretty easy to swap weapons around so if the current set up isn't working or you see downfalls with your style in the future try out a different combo.
But most of all, I see you didn't argue with it, am I actually wasting my time on these and should I switch already? What do you suggest? Didn't seem to me any other weapon has similar mechanics. :\
