Wrong, you're suppose to use your threat skills to pull, not your hit. Your hit doesn't generate enough threat to overpower some of the healers/DPS, where as your defiant stance, shield bash, reap, berserk, spear kick etc, all do. Bare in mind these only work with the carnellians in the weapons.
That's even worse than not using them at all as a tank.
Carnelian in weapons will multiply the thread generated by your weapon, as well as allowing the provoke abilities to provoke enemies. That makes it easier to keep them around you, while other people can damage enemies without being attacked.
When you put it into armor, it will reduce the threat generation. You as a tank already has low aggro generation as you're doing relatively low damage to enemies, so reducing it even more will most likely cause the enemies to attack other people in your team and as you've no carnelian in your weapon it will pretty much be impossible to get the aggro against you in such a scenario. Pretty much the opposite of what a tank should actually do.
Bro. Read the tooltips on your ability with taunt more carefully.
Actually i think the tooltips the problem it's easy to misread it.
Needs to specify like:
In weapon: generate threat
In armour: reduce threat
atm it's something like generate threat or reduce threat.
I know 2 tanks(who are very smart people irl) both did the exact same thing as well and had to tell them to assume all offensive type abilities go into weapons and all defensive in armour.
While having high weapons with the carnelians slotted can help with some of the threat, its quite often not enough. Even defensive stance sword and board with carnelian can not keep threat off some others in a party.
Basically, the game's mechanics aren't fine tuned to work 100% properly in this regard.
That said, dungeons arent wow style ones. Most parties can handle things with a decent healer and other combos.
Bruh, it directly says to place a Carnelian Gem in your Weapon to activate taunt mechanic.
Like how more basic could they make it, at that point, these folks need to just focus in school.
