One question about PVP in the new update
Why do people write that PVP will be dead if in the next patch the developers add a pvp island with the loss of the found loot

The pve players are so desperate to hate anything to do with pvp... when pvp is one of the few things keeping players in.

Who wants to go to an open island alone vs premades with healers and muskets?

The island is again something that nobody wants.

The people is asking for:

Better bgs and arenas with matchmaking, valuable rewards, with leaderboards, etc.

More engaging open pvp in the current map.

Wars for everyone and not only the 3% of all the players.

Armor loadings and weapon balancing.

Desync fix.

First, source your statistics. Second, this game needs every single player it can get. Third, compare ingame expenditures of average pvper vs pve player. Fourth, anecdotally, which one can easily find active groups for? (it's not pve)

Devs say it in their devstream. Sorry but I won't watch them all again to tell you the specific one. Also pvp has literally 2 modes while pve group activities have several instances divided into 4 subcategories each. Not counting trials. What is easier: to find groups for 2 pvp queues (plus arena is not popping) or 12 dungeons with 4 versions each?
Also it's funny how tilted people tend to assign numbers to their arguments.

Good. I really hope all the toxic sweatlords (both pvp and pve) and warloggers move to another game and leave New World for good. In October we should have a nice launch. On the other hand they'll probably be back to mess the experience of others.

you can look at the global achievement statistics directly here on steam youself quickly and easily. I have no reason to mistrust those numbers. I don't believe AGS marketing talk, however.

According to those steam statistics 11% of all players have won ONE opr. that's the first time you even see pvp appear when you go down the achievement ranking of activities people do most. (it's not pvp)
That's 11% of 900k... who haven't came back since the initial month or two.

OP is a trick question or a weird strawman: nobody is actually saying that PVP will be dead, or that it has to do with the island. They're saying it already IS DEAD, and you can readily see this on any server if you actually play the game. Player interest is so low that most of the companies have trouble slotting for wars, of the couple of companies that are even left in a competitive enough state to do wars. The other PvP options are arenas which will never start because nobody is queueing up for them, and OPR where a good half of both teams is just going to get their 3000 points and go afk to throw the game faster so they can farm more pvp track levels and rewards. Actually doing the only repeatable PvP and trying to win has less incentive and reward than actively throwing. Other than dueling, or doing races (multiple territories havent had a race for 60 days on El Dorado, the last west coast legacy server in operation) that's it for PvP. Its dead and has gotten progressively more dead since March on every server.
