I don't understand why people say things that are demonstrably untrue. Maramma is averaging ~500 players at any given time. It doesn't even reach a 1k peak.

Like more than a few of us mentioned on New Worlds Alpha forums, this was always a data grab. Being able to recoup hundreds of millions of USD in addition to accumulating the necessary information to make a successful LOTR MMO was icing on the cake.

As a MMORPG, it was a bad idea to make it a paid game in the first place. You can't own it, and it'll be yanked from you when the servers are shutdown. Plus, I highly doubt that this game will ever receive a offline patch if the servers are shutdown.

....., I'm just glad that I no longer buy games like these anymore....
