Don't be surprised in 2024 is the last year this game runs for.
Very sad but think NW is now in a death spiral (has been for awhile if peeps honest). I know season 5 update is meant to be "something big", but you get the feeling they are scaling down general support for the game, which again if honest makes sense. Was broken from the outset, had great potential if the leadership had actually bothered to change things properly rather than patronise people and cover over cracks, could have been a contender. GW2 a 14 year old MMO (its about that yes) outshines NW in almost every area. Maybe NW combat is one of the best models out there, but has too many working parts for devs to be able to consistently balance. So bad in fact they made that part of the chase, chase the next unbalanced artifact weapon :).

Yes there is now cross server dungeons and OPR etc, but it's all abit to late. AGS did not have a clue about how much content they needed in the barrel post launch to make the game viable in the long run. ROTA should have been already 50-60% done at initial launch.

Sad ending to a game that could have done well with the right people running the show.

So long NW and all the drama that came with you, you will be missed :)

As always Just one opinion no preach.

The one problem I've had with this game since it's release, is how stale the story and the content around it is. Putting the combat flaws, unbalanced PvP and bot problems aside, the story needs some work. It's not memorable or immersive what-so-ever. If a game has a story or campaign, it should encompass the entire game and the content around it, especially if they specifically added lore to be found in the game; not being able to swim being a big part of it. I've been following this game since before its release, played it quite a bit, hit max level a few times, participated in wars, had a successful guild, etc... but I still don't remember the story. There's nothing that entices players, specifically me, to want to play the game again. It's an unfortunate truth.

They removed New World from Amazon prime gaming. It looks like the end is near.

yeah, but first 2 weeks when everyone was new were the best.

The game will get new life (pun intended) when it releases for consoles.

You know the game is nearly dead when Crunktanium isn't jumping on all posts to defend it. In fact, I understand he's gone part time now and looking for another job.

Imagine thinking 750,000 players leaving a game quicker than any other game in history being wrong about how GARBAGE this game was and STILL is.

You'd have to have some serious issues to still believe the devs are going to fix all the bugs, exploits, bots and customer service problems after this long.

Your attempt to be funny or sarcastic falls short of the facts. Amazon prime gaming has been giving prime gaming rewards for NW since launch. I know I been getting the prime member rewards up until I tried to redeem them yesterday. NW is not found on Amazon prime gaming anymore. CHECK IT YOUR SELF.

@The Craziest Cat Lady: Troll is troll. Nice try though.

It's not a "Near Death Sprial" its an actual "Death Spiral" where the development team are no longer going to be contributing any meaningful updates. The game is being put into maintenance mode (not the same as SWTOR, that still gets content) while AGS works on its upcoming MMO.

The wait for New World’s next season is nearly over as the long-delayed Season of the Guardian finally gets a launch date of April 2.

No. They didn't.

Ya they did, from the main page for prime gaming:

We couldn't find any results for: "new world"
We're always adding more offers. Let us know what you want to see next.

It has always been the case that there are no offers shortly before a new season. They come with the season. The story that the game has been "removed" from Prime Gaming is simply nonsense.
