Since Amazon is now focusing on a different MMO is it over for New World?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I heard that Amazon is working on some Lord of the Rings MMO. If that's the case, I am guessing their best guys have already been moved over, and what is left for new world are the devs that would be ranked C-tier or less.

I can only assume that the micro transactions will slowly turn into pay to win to milk whatever is left of the diminishing population.

Supposedly that is the current number of AGS people working on the new MMO.
Its currently in Pre Concept stage

I have a hard time believing its just 5 guys at this time, but say you are right. Every month that goes by assets, designs, expansions, bug fixes, and planning that would normally have gone to New World, will eventually go to the new MMO.

Amazon may have a lot of money, but I doubt they are going to maintain a duplicate staff to take care of both games.

Right now you're assuming. Try waiting until you actually know what's going to happen before throwing a tantrum.

Who cares. AGS has proven they are pathetic at developing games, let alone MMOs. The LOTR MMO will be another woke piece of sht... which is sad considering its potential... just like NW.

Wasn't wise starting what is accepted as one of the most difficult genres to do well, that being MMO's. Should have learnt more from the like's of anet etc before even contemplating, there is a reason why GW2 is still so popular even after 10+ years.

New World feels like a Proof of Concept for the LOTR game. They are testing some of the systems in New World that they intend to use with LOTR. If LOTR has the same scenario and quest writers as New World, I'm not touching it. It's a shame, because the sound design for New World is one of the best in the industry.

Last time I checked this is a discussion board for New World.

If discussing news related to New World and drawing conclusions from the data is considered throwing a tantrum, I suggest that you maybe visit a board more suitable to your special needs.

Not a small number of studios employ 3rd party studios as almost the writer's equivalent of ghost writers to do work as well. So 5 may not be the accurate accounting to the work being done. Ark for example is infamous for using Instinct, Efecto, Grove Street, and some other 3rd parties to do a lot of the work on Evolved and now on Ascended in addition to their in house Wildcard. Not saying that's a good thing mind you just that it again makes the "5" something to be skeptical of.

It still takes away from New World. These devs are saving their energy for a new MMO instead of investing it into New World.
