A modern PCIE 4 M.2 will run in a PCIE 3 slot and give you a big boost in disk speed, even if they don't hit their theoretical max.
8GB of video ram is also reaching the point of being bare minimum.
A 6 year old Pc is reaching End of Life
What the heck is an 'internet pack'?
Must be like the packs where they keep all the Internets.
You should get one at level 100 for your mount.
You seriously think a system that doesn't even support USB 3.2 or M.2 is going to perform better with a simple SSD upgrade? Maybe you thought the rest of the world upgrades every few years just for the fun of throwing away money. None of us like dropping thousands on new hardware. Unfortunately you keep up with the times or you get left behind. Otherwise you go the console route if PC gaming is not within your budget.
First he should be using old graphics drivers that were used when the game performed better. Newer drivers are not always a good thing for older hardware but few will listen to reason on this one. And upgrading the video card in his case would make a world of difference. Which is probably the single thing that would bring the most bang for the buck that could also be used if and when the rest of the components were upgraded. But every situation is unique sometimes it's a hardware bottleneck and sometimes it's too much crap running in the background. That's why consoles are so much easier for developers to make games for as every system is the same.
Anything in the 40 series is a total waste of money right now anyway. You are better off getting a 3070 TI or wait to see what the 40 series Super refresh brings. You get more cores, more memory and most importantly it's said to have a bigger memory bus.
GeForce RTX 4070 - AD104 - 5888 cores - 12GB 192-bit 21 GT/s GDDR6X
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti - AD104 - 7680 cores - 12GB 192-bit 21 GT/s GDDR6X
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super - AD103 - 8448 cores - 16GB 256-bit 22.4 GT/s GDDR6X
But now every time i launch it, it crashes about 5-10mins into gameplay.
It's just gonna have to continue collecting dust... ~sigh
Doesn't crash for me on i9-12900H and 3070 ti laptop. So it must be something wrong with either your hardware or drivers. Anyone on a desktop of similar specs should get far better performance too.
