Constant stuttering and freezing
Never had this problem before when I played which was a year or so ago. Now I get constant freezing and stuttering. It's so badly unplayable. Tried turning down my graphics to medium, then low. Nothing. Dont know what to do, maybe just give this game up?

I upgraded my PC last year and the game became the same way for me. Weird how the game played fine on Ryzen 1600 with an RX 580 4gb and 24 gb ddr3 but once I upgraded to Ryzen 5600 with and RX 5700xt 8gb with 32gb ddr4 the game stutters and freezes.

Make sure you are not using uncapped fps. This game is CPU heavy, and uncapped fps can cause issues on slower machines, even if you are in the minimum requirements.

I have it capped at 30fps

I too am having this issue, and it is new as I took a hiatus from the game about a year ago, then recently got a brand new PC with much better specs, had a fresh download of it and now it runs like ♥♥♥♥. I've had my very tech savvy BF do literally everything to fix it, and nothing has worked. It's on Amazon's side, I'm pretty sure. It just sucks because as per usual, not everyone has this issue so it's hard to find any real help on it. ; v;

I had the same issue running the game on a HDD. Moved the game to my SSD and its fine now.

I had a similar experience after coming back to the game recently. My rig hadn't changed but it was really struggling in season 3. I read somewhere that the minium spec for disk speed had increase which made me wonder what SSD i was playing this game on. Realised I was running it on a standard SATA SSD drive so moved the game files to an M2 with a high transfer rate. This sorted the problem for me. Clearly I have no idea if this is the same problem for your set up but worth considering what type of disk drive you have the game installed on to make sure it meets minimum spec as I feel this gets over looked and this game seems to demand a high disk speed to run smoothly.

Just in case you played a long time ago on a regular HD like I did and it worked well: I came back after a while recently and everything was a jittery, stuttering mess. I installed the game on a SSD drive and all my problems went away. I think an SSD is basically required now.

Same issue here, went to New World Official discord and was told to stop whining and my pc was a just a brick. Awesome way to be greeted! I just uninstalled and kicked it to the archive.
I have plenty of other playable games. good luck! :medicon:

was running fine on mine till last couple of major updates...then got all the stutters to the point i was thinking of quitting cause games gone to ♥♥♥♥ .
But i installed new world on my windows drive which is a 500 gb nvm stick and its running smooth again.
Its pretty stupid that you would have to do it....cause i could see a lot of ppl quitting over the stutters out of frustration like i almost did. The Game should be able to run fine on normal hard drives.

I fixed it by installing it on an ssd. Like Heathen said, I don't get why it wont run on regular hard drives :/. really dumb that.

I have freezings, i cannot control anything in game, and i have to do ctrl alt del and close the task manager to take control of the game, but in 30 seconds other freeze, and i have to repeat the proccess, my rig is:

Ryzen 7600
RX7800XT
1TB PCI 4.0
32GB DDR5 6000Mhz

it is not for my rig, absolutely, the pc has 2 days and everything works fine

Yeah, I believe this to be true as well. I got fed up, yoinked the SSD from my old comp, reformatted it, plopped it in this one, and moved New World over JUST to see, since it's the ONLY thing I hadn't done yet to fix it. Runs much better. it's so sad that a game made by a multi billion dollar company can't even make a game that can run on an SSD and a HDD. They do so many things that are just GAVE DEV 101 and they fail every time. LOL

The game more or less requires an SSD now. Somewhere along their development, they changed something, so without an SSD, you will stutter like crazy. You'll still stutter in huge group gatherings (Like the halloween event at times.) but yeah.

Ryzen 5800x3d, 3080ti installed on ssd and i have always had issues with stuttering, lag, and what appears to be server hitching and desyncing. The main reason I havent put more time into this game because fighting with that it ends up being not a good experience. The baseline game is enjoyable enough if it didnt have those issues I would buy the expansion and play more. Came back to see and no, still an issue. Optimization is poor, I think this game should add DLSS and FSR and do some performance optimizations.
