White Screen when trying to load into game.

When I click play on New World it will start up but the whole game runs at 1 FPS then go white screen and freeze. Anyone find a fix for it?

Some players are not able to get past the Amazon Games logo and are stuck at a white screen. Please try the following steps if you are experiencing this issue.

On your PC, navigate to the following two folders, and delete the files located there: %appdata%/AGS/New World and %localappdata%/Temp/AGS/New World/shaders

Relaunch the game.

If the issue is still occurring, delete the files located in the above folders, reinstall the game, and try launching the game afterwards.

That's new world statement about it. No idea if that will fix it for you as i dont have this issue.

I have a similar problem, the game crashes after character selection. I'll try whats been suggested and see how it goes.

Same issue. Loads the Amazon logo really slowly then white screen. Tried deleting the files and reinstalled last night. Still the same this morning.

I got mine fixed. The server saves your player. I deleted the new world folder under AGS and relaunched the game. Don't freak out DO NOT create a new character just back out and pick the server you play and your character will show up.

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\AGS this works for me have to do it every time you before you launch the game

Thanks STALL, it worked, although when i tried to log in my second character the game crashed. I shut down steam and then followed what you said again and the game ran fine

deleting the New world file under AGS worked for me. Just gotta redo all your presets and bindings.

where can i see ags or maybe i dont even have it

I hope they fix this soon. Having to redo all graphics settings and bindings everytime is a pain

Could be the directory where the config file cannot be accessed possibly because of anti virus security or something. SO if you have no config file the game will run. But as soon as it has to read that file to run again it can.t. Maybe it never creates that file in the first place. I would suspect AV software.

you have to enable show hidden files/folders then it will show up.

Deleting those files worked for me as well and indeed when restarted the game next time the issue appeared again, but this time i only changed the graphics settings related values to low in the "usersettings.javsave" file and the game started normally. This way u can at least skip the bindings redo every time.

If I make no changes in settings in the game I can restart the game normally. Earlier the only thing I changed was the Profanity filter and when I restarted the game I got the error once again. Why would disabling the profanity filter break the game, lol.
