Game does not launch - post update
Is anyone else having this issues? I've ran the file data integrity feature on steam which said everything looks correct. Then uninstalled and re-installed the game and I still cannot get the game to launch. The newworld.exe just sits in background running processes for 30+ minute and still no opening of New World.

This seems to have started after the big update yesterday, was playing just find on Monday..

Yes just bought the game and it was white screening if i didnt skip the amazon logo scene and now its doing exactly what you wrote in your post...

Some players are not able to get past the Amazon Games logo and are stuck at a white screen. Please try the following steps if you are experiencing this issue.

On your PC, navigate to the following two folders, and delete the files located there: %appdata%/AGS/New World and %localappdata%/Temp/AGS/New World/shaders

Relaunch the game.

If the issue is still occurring, delete the files located in the above folders, reinstall the game, and try launching the game afterwards.

This worked for me: delete C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\AGS\New World
and it loads. I found this solution here yesterday and wanted to thank the poster.

Think I figured it out, I've had to do this three times and it seems to crash whenever I change any settings (i.e. graphics, keybindings). Each time it crashes I have to re-delete these files and then the game will launch once more (or it just requires it each time I close the app..)

Update - post 13 GB hotfix/maintenance. Still unable to change setting without game crashing and requiring me to delete those files once more to launch

10/16 and this still appears to be an issue... Would really like to change my graphic settings to low at this point, because high makes it almost unplayable.:steamthumbsdown:

This is my issue as well, I literally have to delete my personal settings folder everytime I want to play the game, it makes 0 sense. I've even tried changing only ONE thing at a time, and no matter what it is, its the same outcome. Unplayable trash is what the game is right now, how is this even a thing? Please help:steamthumbsdown:

You don't need to delete the file "rebindings.xml" which is the file that stores the changes you made to your keyboard bindings.

Sometimes if I only delete the "user_preload_settings.cfg" file, it loads just fine. Other times, I have to delete that file and everything in the savedata folder, then reset the graphics settings once it loads up. It is annoying; I'm sure they are working on it but there are a lot of other bugs as well.

So all in all this is just a crummy system and the reason i am stating this. Have you ever in your life seen a game that you can't touch any of the settings? Come on now if that was the case then why eve have the settings. When you have to go in and delete anything the company created for the game then that should be a hug "red flag" that this game is just screwed.

Its their stupid splash screens that seem to lock up the login process and you then have to delete the Appdata stuff

I have not been able to log into the game for over five days now. The hundreds of times I have tried, it always lags right after the arrow goes under the game and then goes to the white screen. Then when I try again, it shows the game running and says I played so many hours today and I have not even been in the game for five days. Bought the new angry earth several days ago, still have not seen what it is, can't get into the game. Written numerous times for help, some guy named "Joey" sends me a link to click on that sends me to a chat screen where other people are having many different problems. I just want to log into my game and play, nothing more, nothing less. No one will help me. Who do I contact and how do I contact someone that will help me ... HELP
