Paid mount? What?

I understand that the game needs to earn money to stay alive. Paying servers, devs and bla bla bla... However, putting a "basic mechanic" behind a pay wall... I think it's unfair.


I know the game didn't need mounts (or did, it depends on your point of view). But, if you're going to add something so different, I think it's completely unfair to add it through paid means.

Apart from other things like the new weapon and some new things.

Oh, and before I say anything, I have more than a thousand hours in this game

I think everyone should have access to something so simple and basic.

Do you want to put a new area, new missions and items (apart from the new weapon) behind a paid expansion? Okay, I think it's completely fair, since all MMO's do this.

That's how bad the implementation is, there's no new mechanics, its like they did the least they could do to make a fast cash grab, let alone playing for mounts, then having to pay for mount skins on top of that.. congratulations !

I said they would do this long ago and many others knew it too. If you push the developer to do something they don't want to do they have every right to charge for it no? I want wallpaper for my house so should that be added free because I want it for free? It was no secret they had plans to expand the cash shop and i'd say they did it pretty mildly.

Go compare the mount skins in NW to the mount prices in FFXIV. Sure they give you some ugly clunky mounts for free. But everyone with a credit card is buying the cool one's in the shop. Just many of us paid for retainers to be able to list more items ton the market. I was paying for 4 retainers and if that's not pay to win I don't know what is. But I dare you to call out those developers on their forum for pay to win features.

A speed buff on roads and paths is literally all the game needed. It never needed mounts, they said they wouldn't put mounts in the game. Oh look, they put mounts in the game with a price tag of $30 and also cosmetics for them for additional cost. Literally everyone should have seen this play coming "We won't put mounts in, we promise" is code for "you will never get mounts for free."

Excatly they are a basic feature in almost every MMO out there besides maybe GW2 but thats a free game to get started in so it doesn't count.

Welp I new they would have mount/skins in the shop HOWEVER I do believe there are some mounts that can be earned in game are there not?

yeah. there are mounts that can be bought from a vendor and they can drop from expeditions.
