Prior to the FOMO season battlepasses and the devs introducing p2w to the game I always recommend the game with the caveat that the game is what it is.

New World is a full price game, not some free-to-play cell phone app. ... So kindly stop lying by telling people the store is only cosmetic, and whether or not you consider the battlepass and the p2w aspects are "necessary" or not is irrelevant.


... And no, I'm not against monetization, but AGS decided to go down the scummy and predatory route of FOMO marketing and p2w.

New World isn't a "full price" game, the standard edition is £33.50 (£20 on discount) (pretty much inline with indie dev game's) while most games are on the market for a minimum of £49.99 if not more, the base price alone will give you your moneys worth. They introduced a monetization method that ALL major video games use nowadays, a season pass. Yes they have some items that you can gather in-game but there's no unique items as you would like to call it "Pay 2 Win" items that will give you an advantage over other's who don't purchase it. There's no real FOMO as most player's who enjoy the game will complete the season pass in 3 months which is plenty of time to complete the season pass. I've been playing since the release of the season and without focusing on the season pass for 50% of my playtime I'm already lvl 70, that cost me about £15 for 3 months with them giving me around 1/3 of the price back in in-game currency which will allow me to get a free paid season pass after purchasing 3 within the year, which is fair. If you think this isn't fair i don't know what to say, maybe go back to WoW and purchase in-game gold for real money as that's not "PAY 2 WIN" right? Surely :)

Meh, most of the game's features come off as sub-par. At times, I think AG wishes it was Albion Online.

Not sure on how you gauge whether things are "worth it", but I do find the game to be uninteresting when compared to other MMOs.

Don't play WoW so I can't confirm if that's true or not but p2w is p2w ... period.

We get it you take yourself very serious and you just learned what "FOMO" stands for.

Literally every multiplayer game has FOMO elements, it's how they keep players engaged.

Just checked a few threads on this forum and you are in almost everyone of them.

If you don't Like PVP or have people to run Expeditions you won't be able to level up the season pass ! i Was stupid enough to have paid for premium season pass and realized afterwards they force people to do Expeditions and pvp for most of the exp to level up the season pass. that was the last straw for me. these n00bs cry about bashing the game and saying it's the least p2win game and they're right but it's only a matter of time before it gets worse it's amazon and this game has zero future
