Well, to be fair, it's possible they enjoyed the content itself, just not the grindy reward system.

True, I personally read the two threads as meaning they liked the idea of the bingo cards, tried the "finish a line and use Azoth to reset" trick I saw someone mention, but I speculate PvP Spots are common enough to make that trick not really practical.
It would make things more palatable, but I don't believe people should be forced to do something they don't enjoy in a game ... probably the best option would be have two "cards", one PvE and one PvP and let you finish whichever you wish.
Actually most players are heavily focused to PvE and barely dabble in occasional PvP.
There's quite a bit of pvp activitgy on the server i am on...forts constantly change ownership during peak hours.
And what percentage of players are involved in that activity?
It didn't use to be that bad as scaling used to be much better but the devs listened to certain YouTubers who complained that they would lose to characters half their level which lead to our current gear based PvP.
