New World never burned GPU's it was crappy made GPU's that were not put together properly that were having failures.

It was never problem of NW, problem was always in that specific graphic card.

Yes it was. lots of people, likely thousands, had their GPUs burnt up.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

ASUS is fine, other cheap ones had issues at launch at least.

It's fixed now, here's the story: As I understood it, New World did not have an fps cap at the main menu at launch, so unless you had vsync enabled or capped your fps yourself, your gpu would try to push out as many fps as possible. The majority of people has control over their fps and temps, and gpus have software to prevent overheating, but some people simply trust in the gpu alone to keep things safe. That's why some got their gpus fried, because of software failure on some specific newer gpu models. Poor gpus were probably in que for hours those days in the main menu trying to push absolute max fps without thermal throttling.

actually the problem was never the framerate as that literally doesnt make any sense and never has and was peak Gamer Brain. the problem was 2 entire generations of nvidia cards had significant problems with transient spikes between the GPU and the Power Supply which was causing cards to periodically spike up to 1000W causing the GPU to bite the dust. This problem was an issue in the 3000 series and the early 4000 series cards and is one of the many possible reasons EVGA dipped out of the industry

4080 is chilling on this

It's probably your defective GPU. New World's performance optimization is rather impressive especially considering it has the most advanced graphics engine of any MMO to date.

As stated above it must be "worse quality" GPUs.
I know a couple guys with 30xx series and one even had an OC before switching to a not OC and he never capped his frames until we could convince him of the benefits.
He had no problems with his GPU.

I wonder if it is really that advanced. I see the same artifacts i saw in the UE4 engine that i first thought it was running on the UE4 engine.

Yeah and not only that. New World broke the gearbox of my car! Now I have to bring it to the mechanic. And my cat got sick because of New World!
XD Thanks for the laugh, I needed that. :gtfoheart:

Stating that it was hardware and not Amazon's software problem is outright ridiculous considering what they themselves have said - and that's not even ignoring that it was only New World that was causing this issue and no other titles at the time....
