Literally the exact same waste of time, just like every single MMO thats ever existed. Infact, if people did switch it would be an even bigger waste of time for them as they are now starting fresh in a new game.

I can't disagree. Although I can't stand Zenimax Online for their monetary practices, at least there are fun things to do in ESO. Their housing is LIGHT years ahead of New Worlds. Combat is not bad, its different so hard to compare although I prefer how new world weapons function as their own weapon, ESO feels more like buff bar weapons depending on build. That being said ESO has more fun skills like teleports, cool animations and pet classes if you want to play one.

The ESO community is light years ahead of new worlds, but you can find your elitist PVE Raiders and elitiest PVP bros in that game as well, but you don't come across them as often (due to the larger player base, even though its a mega server).

The ESO world feels alive and overall its just got more stuff to do.

I uninstalled New World tonight. It's trash, pure trash. The PVP is an utter joke and the amount of aimbots and macro animation cancelling cheaters is unparalleled.

I want to like new world, its why I have put so many hours into it, but in reality the game is just not well done. Its lipstick on a pig. Its buggy, the content is light, housing has been broken for 16 months (and devs have not said anything about fixing it, contrary to the massive amount of bug reports).

I imagine the people working on new world are doing their best, and trying their hardest, but I also imagine they have a limited budget (not their fault), but in the end for me....its just not worth the headaches anymore. ESPECIALLY if you PVP. PVP is an utter joke.

Its the graphics. I cant go back to playing a grainy game with low quality graphics even if the game has better content. Its the ambiance that counts.

Yet, they released a necro update expansion/dlc which cost the same as a 2023 new fresh game !

I'm actively playing both right now. There are definitely differences. I would kill to play a magicka build that doesn't use a staff in ESO. I also think the combat system in ESO makes my wrist pain worse with the weaving techniques. I do agree that ESO's lore is amazing, but I would expect nothing less from a world that has been around and passed to multiple teams for decades. I do think both have awful cash shops, but ESO feels more expensive, I'd need to check. Their lootboxes are also awful compared to other loot boxes, of which I think SWTOR has the best. That said, the guild system is much more inclusive in ESO with several LGBTQIA+ friendly guilds and access to multiple guilds, like in Guild Wars.

Seriously? I personally played ESO from Beta until Oct 2022...and their gear system is horrible...changes every 3 months to a new 'meta' and literally killing builds. Graphics? You must be smoking something...I could go on, but the OP is way off mark.

Can you point me to where I made that statement? I asked a simple question and got a answer. Also went to their forums and didn't even think of buying the game just to stir the pot or coming here to bash it to no end. I just took a good look at the game and forums and realized the grass over yonder ain't that green. I also find it interesting that if you don't pay monthly you are at a big disadvantage which for people to say NW is Season Pass is P2W which means the upgrades for paid users in ESO is strait up P2W.

I am also very grateful NW doesn't do loot crates. Because I will admit to spending god knows how much on DOTA skins and playing roulette for the rares. I don't regret one penny spent in support of the game but I do feel it's predatory for those with addiction who can't afford it. Although a good chunk of the money spent did go to fund leagues so at least it wasn't purely a cash grab as with some other games. So if ESO is your thing more power to you. It just isn't my cup of tea but to each his own I say.
