Isn’t this a form of pay-to-win?
All of the non-cosmetic Premium Track rewards can also be earned through the Free Track and normal gameplay.
The Premium Track adds 100 levels of additional rewards, giving players the opportunity to get more in-game items.
The gear rolled from these rewards will not exceed 600 Gear Score and does not include any unique perks that cannot be found in-game.
Premium Track Cosmetics do not provide any additional benefits.

That still rings of pay-to-win... or am I misunderstanding?

Regardless, this is a sign the game probably isn't healthy.

If they build in a way to play and earn the premium track without money than I like this news. Otherwise, its very disappointing to see that now I cant just spend my money for the cosmetic i want but now i have to earn and spend money. No, thanks! Please don't take away earn-able cosmetics from events just for a money grab with a season pass! Were the payed for cosmetics not enough revenue, keeping in mind old gaming companies didn't even use that to stay afloat. You used to be able to just earn everything the game had to offer. We don't need season passes we need armor that actually gives you the feeling that your powerful and people will know it. Otherwise, were all just newbs hiding in cosmetic crap.

What amazes me is that they didn't wait until the game is content full or until a lot of issues that have been around since day 1 were fixed before they offer a battle pass.

1117 Hrs played, held a server KnightswhosayBread before the first merges, after the bugs janky combat and broke systems we stayed, i cannot support this battlepass direction its a joke for a "immersive" mmo, uninstalled and have told my new company members to try to refund.

i had to look it up means fear of missing out! so hes implying people will pay for pass due to fear of missing out haha. i spend money everyday on food for fear of dying.

If it's entirely cosmetic, no I don't think it would be P2W. It's another story if the premium side rewards materials, gear, or other "convenience" items.

There's also whether the progression will be specific to mundane tasks like cutting down trees or something a little bit more complicated like collecting tax from a town or winning PvP matches down the line.

if they add a season pass i can say i will most likely never buy it and if they ♥♥♥♥ it up i most likely will quit playing the game, sorry im not giving any one money for the chance to have the ability to maybe play and earnsomething.... ♥♥♥♥ THAT!

You really should amend the top post with the link to the new/details of it so as to lessen the chances of people making the same mistake in thinking hehe.

you can speed up your gear with orbs, which you can get over the season pass, so for open world pvp its a little pay to win. If they want earn money with an expansion which they planned for autumn, thats absolutely ok, but with the season pass i dont know if this is a good way for the game . . .
