NW is just another "mmo" that tried and failed... and as a mmo player, it hurt me to get into GW2 again cause there's nothing good out (as i do for ESO, ff14 etc).
now, what's the point to come here? from 1 million players to 20k, you dont think ppl really already understand it?
To sum NW in one sentence it's the world of Warcraft we all wanted and never got.
top tier world- amazing quests- extremely good gameplay and mechanics. and the best of it all you simply buy the game once and all expansions are free to come.
Want more inventory space? Buy some gems.
Want more bank space? Buy some gems.
Want more characters? Buy some gems.
There's a lot of content, but to experience it and enjoy it properly you need deep pockets.
you do realize GW2 is still one of the top played MMOS.... It has a very healthy population. Theyve already announced its next expansion and has some new locations coming out very soon
To this day I cannot find another game with such details in mounts. The animation, the movement, all the aspects are imo the best amongst nowadays mmorpg designs.
In my server people use to joke saying "picture this: a treasure-chest route in mounts, how laughable" and my reply is "Search on Youtube for SilverWastes RIBA rotation. People use mounts and the experience is the best you can get"
Guild Wars 2 has many right things New World could copy. Like Legendary gear. In Guild Wars 2 after crafting a legendary gear (super expensive) you can pick whatever atribute you like and change on the fly. In New World you need 1 copy of the same gear for each mutated dungeon.
QoL speaking, GW2 is indeed better. The horizontal progression in GW2 appeals to the casual public. NW is a grinding game, like the good old days mmorpgs. But things change. I dont think people want to farm 10h for 1 pice of gear anymore. GW2 learnt this since 2018.
Want to please your hardcore players? Raids are the simplest answer.
The craft system in NW is the one I really like. And as we have people that enjoy doing chest-rotation and dungeons and massive pvp, I think Amazon should make crafting a endgame activity too. In GW2 you can craft a food banquet to place for everyone to take a bite and receive the buff. NW could copy that too.
You see, New World is a good game, but GW2 has more time on the road. I'm sure NW devs are gonna catch up. Give them credit.
PS: all the best to the devs to try keep it alive with new content, maybe they should try re-release it like Skyrim devs did it multiple times to make more $ from it
