That is why the game have that bs "luck status", if want a higher chance at getting better results the players need to use trophies, specific gear & other game elements that give you higher luck status. YT is full of tutorials about this, in case that at ur 1k+ hours do not have this sorted yet.
Crafting. as many other core elements of this game, need a rework (un-officially the game is in Early Access state, with many missions still bugged for months & an endless list of bugs that invaded the game with the last expansion update and never been addressed months later).
I would start with removing the LUCK & RNG LOTTERY elements from the game completely. This is not Lost Ark but sadly the AG devs got inspired by that bots gacha game.
I started crafting and i'm at lvl 32 and haven't gotten out of Everfall yet. Gear score and damage in low 200s at lvl 50 while drops I get are way higher in damage and have decent stats. Crafting tons of common potions and wasting money and time just so I can get to 50+ and in the meantime, leveling myself so fast the zone mob levels are way lower as I get to them.
Gonna just ditch crafting for now.
I have maxed crafting in like a dozen MMO's and this one is actually not that bad. The worst system ever was Lineage 2 in which you would slot items with crystals. And to get enough crystals you were pretty much forced to buy in bulk with gold you botted yourself to get or purchased from gold sellers. Then each level of item improvement had a chance of destroying the item entirely giving you a mere hand full of crystals. Rinse and repeat to the point most people just bought gold and paid a small fortune to someone who invested money and time to max items already. Trust me this is a far better system than some which forced players to buy gold and max crafting just to make a random trinket that was actually worth using.
I suppose you never played Ultima online back in the day. It's crafting system was way harder than any game you have ever played. You are comparing apples to oranges. No game is exactly a like. Its easy getting to 200 in new world, its harder creating useful gear. And for that reason in new world buying gold is also common because its cheaper than earning it the hard way and that is why new world has so many automated bots farming.
You must not have been around for Star Wars Galaxies. I would say that was the best, but this is all subjective I know...
