Great Sword is the new weapon and seems to be pretty strong. Has good offensive and defensive capability. Try both, don't worry cause you can switch up your build whenever really, and can find what works best for you

Before GreatSword came out alot of people run Greataxe and still do it pretty good alot of aoe cleave and its a great weapon for leveling up. Greatsword is fkin great i would say just try every weapon once give em a fair try and choose the 2 weapons u want once u hit 60 look at weapon builds online to know what everyone is running and maybe something catches your attention

am scared it will cost too much to respec later on, usually that is the case for mmos
does it stay cheap later on in high levels?

Caps at 200, so basically no real cost.

Besides, you can master every weapon fairly easily.

The last couple of levels are a bit tedious requiring 100+ kills each. That said it's not really a big deal because you will get it from normal play.

well those info are nice to know, guess i can try whatever i want now
about the weapon skills whats the highest cost , so far its free, will it always be?

in the end game you will max everything out and at some point you will probably end up with a dps set for every weapon, and a tank set and a healer set and you can respec and change wepaon skills to whatever the situation calls for. As a DPS at the moment i am running Great Sword and ( Spear or Great axe or bow or hatchet ) depending on what is needed. but i keep a greatsword as a main. if that helps.

Game is designed that you can respec whenever you want to whatever you want. There is not really any "choices" that screw you over for "end game" builds.

Try everything, the weapons exp is unique to the weapon that is used and you can respec those skills whenever you want. Eventually you'll have max'd out exp for every weapon.

200 gold for respec is the cap. Which is nearly nothing on 60.

Respecing weapon skills is also free till (weapon level 10 on that specific weapon), so go nuts testing.
Respecing ability points is free till lvl 20, again go nuts test stuff out.

After that in both cases the cost is so low as to be a minor consideration.

edit:
I was also very worried about this personally when I started playing. I tend to respec several times a day and my money still climbs none the less.
