How does it compare to FFXIV?

I'm thinking about getting into this or FF but what are your thoughts on the two? Which one has more fun things to do? Which one has more longevity? Dont really care if its grindy, just more depth and intense fights.

Play FFXIV this game is dead in the water it needs way too much changes to make it worth playing. Endgame is soo bad you will have more fun in FFXIV but be aware it is mostly a single player story game like other ff

FF14 has one of the best MMO communitys incomparison to most of them being toxic.

FF14 has 100000 hours of content and even old raid content is still activ, I have around 1.5k hours and still didn't do 80% of FF14.
It has a great story and overall the coolest classes and isn't as brain dead as most other MMOs

New world is already kinda "dead" its still a fun game but nothing where it feels like you can invest time in because it feels like there isn't comming that much anymore :D

NW has a myriad of issues that have contributed to its pretty steady decline for 10 months now with a rather small fraction of those who purchased the game having bothered to level a character to 60. You've 10 months of threads outlining such issues, vids on the subject and more.

Its up to you to then do your due diligence to see what the game has to offer in comparison to that of ff and make a decision based on what matches you best to avoid buyers remorse and caveat emptor'ing. If you want more limited play, being B2P, and can join a large company that focuses on the consensual pvp of the game, then you may find the game ok for you for a few hundred or more for a time.

This does not compare to FF14 at all. Both games completely different genres. FF14 is full theme park MMO, this is full sandbox MMO.

Considering this has no subscription fee, there is no reason not to play both, if you like FF14.

This game has WAY better combat than FF14--a game where it's just tab-targeting and spamming 1 ability over and over. NW combat is pretty intense when you get into the pvp aspects of the game and is a heck of a lot of fun in OPR and open world engagements when you can find them.

FF14 has a much tighter story after being around for so long, but NW has a much better gathering system and a more interactive world. A lot of naysayers are giant trolls about NW b/c it's population declined sharply after release, but the truth is the game has improved a ton since then and the roadmap moving forward looks good too. I'd recommend NW. Find a good guild and you'll be having fun in no time.

FFXIV is in the TOP 3 MMOs. New World is like playing a live beta game and trying to convince yourself you are having fun

The reality is NW will not exist in a year unless they somehow shut down servers and did a massive overhaul. It lacks content, with every patch to fix one thing, they have broken another. The creators are RPG fans, but don't understand what it takes to be a functional growing MMO. They tried so hard to not be WoW that they avoided the core fundamentals of all good MMOs such as public dungeon finders, ranked pvp, anything that was cross server. The entire economy was run by RWT on g2g. The only people defending the game currently are the kids who keep trying to give the game more time. It has very little content. I'd rather be a furry incel and play FF than play nw if I could do it over

FF14 has a subscription fee, which rules it out immediately for me. I've been playing MMOs since UO days, and pretty much played them all, then finally kicked the habit and came up with the rule to never pay a subscription again.

It's s.... They recently merged servers again... and now "all" (6 for the entirety of Europe) the server are full with queues.... It's a f..... mess these devs seem to got no freaking clue wtf they are doing... Having some med and low pop servers are fine it's actually healthy because not everyone like to be like a f...... fish in a barrel 24/7.
