Too funny.
Name one game that is PvE focused and has PvP modes that is also balanced, allowing majority of players to play game, bet you can't. Even if you could i'm sure it would be some small indi game that is dying, unlike new world the best MMO out there.
"During game time, I receive considerable grief from my own team mates."
Yea, my general PvP experience in every game that allows communication is a social ♥♥♥♥ bag experience, especially opposing players. The same team stuff abuse happens with the over-competitive no lifers.
Then as you describe, no lifer pre-made teams vs randoms never turns out pretty.
When my company grouped up for OPR we often had boring dominating games, Funny thing was when we queued individually and were split up and fought on different teams, we had fun, intense competitive games that often went down to the last tick.
Sadly, the vast majority of MMO players want rewards and not competition. They consider competitive games 'a waste of time' and will do whatever they can to avoid them.
if you dont like the game THAT much, then its not for you. stop crying
Its not much different here. Add in discord, time spent together practicing, and making the perfect classes and gear for a 5 man team. Your going to see the same outcomes.
The response to this is simple "git gud". You have access to do the same as they do.
A PvPvE instanced event that is occupation based point system.
wow
using adjectives like "horrific", "cruel", "atrocious" and using phrases like "reign shear(sp) terror" to describe a stupid game ( they gave $$ to daddy j) because they're salty losers is just pure comedy lol :D
i wanted to try to use a musket despite the fact i have not really got the gs up on it, its average was somewhere around 560
i hit a guy 5 times and he wasnt even below half health. Meanwhile i got shot once and after the powder burn i was around 20%....
i wasnt in any kind of pvp gear, just open world 590 gear but this is the most asymmetrical game i have ever played... having spent a small amount of time on it messing with crafting and farming i had a glimpse of what it would actually take to be all bis, and aside from alot of rng the sheer amount of time would be insane... this is just to even be able to compete, throw in the lag and the lack of matchmaking... seriously why would anyone do this
well this game at first been designed as a pure pvp war game, than devs changed direction to pve elements when they realized that only few will play it, being aware that will not beat any other pure pvp game out there. So the game is a big compromise mess which is under development for at least 2 more years.
If peoples looking for balanced pvp in a game than play other games made specific for that, otherwise here you might have no chance if you not a dedicated player trying to be the "best" in a broken environment.
Happy New Year
That's correct. OPR is completely noncompetitive. It's a straight up terrible mode.
Also correct I play in the same way your describe. Fully geared in true bis for every good weapon and I understand the game far too well to be fighting 95% the competition.
I'm truly invincible and only die if the risk is a conscious decision (usually trolling the chasers).
Immediately after getting the buffs (any player without buffs is 17% weaker than me). I run to start back capping. It's super simple..
Destroy door, destroy shrine and back cap until it becomes too contested and then start spawn camping. Been on the server so long anyone who's name I don't recognize is a free kill if I want it.
The best part is that this wins the game. It simply takes too many resources (players) to stop someone with bis gear and this playstyle.
OPR can never be competitive because there is no matchmaking.
People only pretend to play OPR but really are playing team deathmatch. (At start everyone runs to mid instead of capturing the first outpost) (they chase kills instead of standing on point).
I'm trying to make an effort everyday to say in global we need modes where "performance matches placement". That means team deathmatch, free for all and 1v1 ladder mode.
Famed players need something to keep them going. Something like winrate history, matchmaking and better end game analytics. Maybe rewards based on performance like the war chests.
