Void gauntlet- Possible for dps?

Hi there! I am looking for some insight into the USES of the void gauntlet. Is is possible, with a particular build, to use it in a dps role? I use firestaff/musket (with utility builds; cc and gap close, because people are always running away from me). But i thought it would be fun if I did voidgauntlet/ musket. But i would need a void build that isnt for supporting. Is it possible or no?

Possible: yes, it does damage.
Good? No. Every other weapon does more DPS than Void gauntlet.

I found a void gauntlet. Still in my inventory. No idea if it is any good or not, using my life staff and axe.
