Why the 72h chat restriction?

Im so confused on why theres like a 72h chat restriction. Like i cant communicate with anything, i cant ask anyone anything. I cant even ask to join someones company.

Seems really counter productive and its surly gotta put players off.

AGS being unable to surgically cut out the gold selling farmers they decided to use a massive sledge hammer to hit the problem, which also hit legitimate players.

72h real life time not ingame. You could make a character and play after the 72h and i think hit lvl 20 then you can chat.

Gold sellers used to amount to 99% of global chat spam.......this 72 hour lockout has seen it almost stop completely. Crappy for new people but its hours outside game where you will be doing tutorial and learning anyways

Said it in my thread, they should have implemented it as soon as you hit 20 it removes the restriction, by then you are starting to mid Azoth staff quest. And possibly tier 2 rank for your company type when elite missions appear.

Is this true? I created a character like 2 weeks ago. Rarely played. Started playing more this week and tried using chat and it told me there's a 72hr wait or something. I'm level 17.

72h is enough. And you dont need a communication at spriggan (you dont even need a group right), or dungeon (since LFG system). For anything else NW got Discord. 72 hours is not much, really.

easy for them to bypass, just make several hundred players and have them do nothing. just sit there offline for 72hrs to pass by
or at least thats what they used to do.
I blame those and the ones that buy from them, without that there wouldnt be any profit since they have to buy the game in the first place. Peeps stop buying they wouldnt bother.
