Evergreen Culling Goats
Where are the goats to complete this quest? I am in evergreen and have been circling the outpost for two hours. close to the walls, far from the walls and nothing. I found some goats near the canary mines but killing those goats doesn't effect progression. Does anyone know how to complete this mission?

The culling anything mission is for the entire game world.

Use this resource map to see where goats are. https://www.newworld-map.com/#/

If that is true then the few that I killed up by Canary Mines should have made a the counter start counting but it didn't. The counter remained on zero the whole time.

I skip the goat ones, just pick up the sheep ones because, even if it says goat in game, it counts at a sheep instead?

Culling means to kill.

If you zoom in on the map you'll see a faint outline of where they are in reference to your quest marker. Your targets will always have a yellow diamond above their head.

Yeah that never happened. Quest mobs have never had yellow diamonds over the head for any quest that I have started.

And what is with getting settlement quests as a 'low level' toon for goats that are in 'higher level' zones. Example - getting those quests at Lvl 15 and the goats are in Lvl 30+ zones. Bang!!!! one hit in those areas and you are dead.

Found kind of the same, in a way with the Alligators. Settlement quests for 'low level' toons against what needs a group at that level.

And some of settlement quests are not worth it for the rewards. The effort required or the hand-in items are more valuable to use elsewhere or sell.

I mean both mobs are fine when you level enough, but getting them as 'low level' quests seems messed up.

It is like someone at AGS rushed the quests and did not think them through.

ehrm....Cull missions are usually for either the community board (in which case they count as repeatable quests...) or Faction Emmisary and said sources opens up the how, what, where to you....you can go kill said goats in a lvl 1 area...or a lvl 60 area; the board doesn't care. So if you THINK you're getting low level quests with their targets in high level area's then you simply haven't found them in your low level areas yet; they're there...trust me. Which, in turn, ties in with you thinking that the reward isn't worth the hassle.... I'll pickup "kill grizzlybear" quests in Weaver's Fen (lvl 30-40) and kill them in Monarch's Bluff (lvl 1-25)... If you know where to go then all those quests become so trivially easy you might feel like the reward is way too high.

Likewise...there's aligator's in Cutlass Keys (lvl 30 ones) OR you could go kill them in Windsward (lvl 20)...

I always treat the community board as a "something to do while I quest in an area" so I'll pickup any and all community quests in ANY region and then complete them whilst I'm actually mainlining the sidequests/main quest. Clear a pirate camp in Monarch's Bluff? Might as well pickup the "cull X amount of turkey's" from Cutlass Keys too...they're abbundant there (monarch's Bluff that is)...maybe pickup the iron bar delivery from Windsward whilst I'm at it...also very easy to complete in Monarchs bluff... and everfall wanted stone bricks...might as well pick that one up too.

It's actually one of the things I feel is refreshing about NW...I'm not locked to a region to complete a quest.

Quest levels aren't that big of a deal. Killing goats in a high level area is a choice. you can abandon the quests or you can unpin them and wait till you are of level. Most quest rewards are crap, but it is like that in almost every game. AGS probably created the game this way to get people to grind for better gear. That is where trades and Azoth come into play.

For the amount of value currency has in game I think the money rewards in quests are too high. With a couple hundred gold you can buy high level armor for all placements. i.e. Helm, chest, arm, legs and feet. same with weapons. But now I am changing the subject.

Just abandon the quest for killing goats in high level areas or unpin them till you can get around to it.
