VG+LS or Hatchet+GA for Solo PVE

So as title says i wanna to know your opinion whats best for SOLO PVE.
Void gauntlet+life staff got pretty cool AOE, dots and range attacks but it lacks mana so you need mana potions (im on 26 lvl so i definitely need it if i wanna kill 3+ mobs of my lvl or 25lvl Yeti lol) - on the other hand hatchet and great axe got pretty cool buff (Berserk) and looks almost the same as vg+ls for me (xept that mana issue).
Your thoughts?

Dex based - Heavy Armour - Sword and Shield + Bow or Musket -- up to lvl 30 - 35. You can easily do all bosses this way + yeti's, and even solo the L25 corrupted portals - with pots, food and kiting.

Then if you want to change to INT/STR or what ever, and the accompanying gear - it gets easier because you level the weapons up real fast, while you now have good damage control.

Make use of free/cheap skill/stat reassignments.

I go with Life Staff and Hatchet. It works great. The hatchet is a very fast weapon that can do a lot of damage very quickly. I have a chain lightning enhancement on mine that makes it no problem with mobs gang up on me, the more, the more lightning damage they take. Then I use the life staff to double heal with Holy Ground of whatever it's calls where you can stand in that circle and then just target myself directly for self heal. Makes it possible to survive a lot of tough situations.

I used great axe + warhammer pretty much all the way to lvl 60, swapping out the warhammer for the hatchet when I needed some extra mobility and health regen. Worked well for solo and even group PvE.
