Amber gems not scaling from Focus - intentional at this point?
Amber gems haven't scaled with focus since launch, I believe.

Example: 100 damage weapon that is all thrust damage. Socket a 50% amber gem, it now does 50 thrust + 50 nature. The 50 nature damage does not scale off your focus at all. The net damage is still 100. Leveling life staff as my group's healer was very tedious but I did it.

It seems an easy fix, but the bug persists. I'm thinking the devs found Lifestaff main + focus gemmed secondary was too strong, maybe? Thoughts?

From the reports on this forum and Amazon NW forum, it seems that a lot of stat numbers, buffs, debuffs, display values and so forth are not working as expected.

Yeah, it'll probably be an entirely different game in a years time, given just how broken everything is currently.
