Always make sure you have enough repair parts at all times so it does not happen.
If it does, you'll have to sell stuff or do quests until you can. But you pick up so much junk that you can't sell, it should be no problems to salvage enough stuff to do repair.
I was never in a position where I ran completely out of money. Gambling or drug addiction, lol? Just kidding, but make sure you don't run completely out of money. Because the marketplace is brutal. It takes a long time to sell stuff and you will make precious little from doing so.
There's a spot north of Everfall and south of Dustmeadow where there is an abundant flint farm. It's a resource people will buy.
