This is what $500 million dollars a year produced
Client side coding. Constant errors. Difficulty changing any aspect of the game. A heavy hand for dealing with any player issue. A total lack of cohesive communication. And a general lack of player support.

If you think things are magically going to get better or that more content will easily be added and fix the issues, I don't know what to tell you. $500 million a year and 5 years of development and this is what you got. It's safe to say at least $500 mil was spent on this game.

If something as simple as server transfers break a game, then how will it respond to added content?

Time and more money won't fix this. It needs better developers and possibly a relaunch.

"Amazon is spending nearly $500 million a year operating the video game division, two people familiar with the budget say. That amount doesn’t include Twitch or a new project under different management, which is building a service to stream games to a computer, phone or Amazon Fire TV."

They should and I don't think it'll be a bad thing.

The game's already a mash of different features from other genres under the impression that it "would" work.

If they don't have a direction for an "ARR", then I wouldn't be as optimistic.

Sorry have to quote myself, cause its as true here as in another thread in this forum

Well ppl, the question is not if the game has content or not anymore. Its not if you like the content or not. Its not if you think its graphically stunning or not, etc.

The question is only, do you like to play a client based game or not.
As a PvPer ... this question is answered very easy ... no ... never, cause it makes no sense at all.
As a PvEer , well ... you have to decide if you want to play competitive or if you do not.
If first ... same as PvP, if second .... enjoy the game if you can.
Its as easy as this.

edit: ♥♥♥♥ did forget the third variation.
If you are a cheater .... enjoy!

So yes, a complete rework is the only thing that will work for many players.

do people not realize that MMO RPG's are one of the hardest games to develop, considering even the back end and the massive amount of players.

That quote is taken out of context. The 500 million is for the whole division doing gaming. Obviously they have other projects besides just New World. We have no idea how much was actually spent on New World.

Why do you think I made a 'safe' estimate instead of saying oh they spent $2.5 billion?

I think that's what the OP is saying though.

AGS has a budget pool of $500m. Produces this.

I don't think the OP is saying it was exactly $500m to make this.

I am, kind of. I think knowing that AGS had a total budget of $2.5 billion over the 5 years means it would be safe to assume that they spent at least $500 million on this game.

Why do you care you refunded the game? I guess posting stupid troll topics to get you awards is a way to pass your time since you have no life otherwise.

Thanks! Even though that's not why I'm here.

Yeah, I didn't factor in the yearly development.
Budmind Oct 22, 2021 @ 11:08am
well its an uneducated assumption then. thinking a company would spend a fifth of its total budget on one product instead of diversifying is naive. admittedly, the game has its flaws, theres no way to honestly think they spent 500m on this.
DanTheMan Oct 22, 2021 @ 11:19am
OH you again. please just leave these forums. You don't even play the game anymore.
