Why female characters can have beards in this game?

In the character creator female characters can have beards. What is the reason behind this?

well, it is not demanding you to put beards on female character, it is just an option. Dark soul 3 allows you to put beards on female character and it's fine. no one needs your homofobic attitude

The US Military was segregated and actually pretty racist at the time.
Blacks only served in supply units such as "Red Ball express".
US military only desegregated by Vietnam War.

What you are saying makes sense if Battlefield was supposed to be a historically accurate war simulator. But it's not.
