I see this all the time its like no dude a tank is like heavy con. Meanwhile probally has same hp as level 25, with meh gear of a 45 lol
He thinks its wow or something like being 60 means he has 3k more hp then 45 lol. You have more stat points to use then him and should have more weapon skills, but I bet the guy not racing to 60 has more mastery points sigh. Like this is why any youtube guy warns people about leveling to fast you out pace your skills and gear, and end up with your butt hanging in the wind in pvp because you skipped half the learning curve, not to mention a ton of gear upgrades doing crap like using town boards for quick exp, and what not lol
They make pve a slow progression .. you level up, you get better gear, you farm for items etc etc to keep these players playing and feeling like they're accomplishing things ..
Then they introduce or try to work in pvp
So one of two things happens..
you please the pvp crowd by .. not having levels or long extended progression on characters and instead make easy to change weapon skills that don't scale or progress upwards
Think of drop in lobby games, you join you pick a character you fight other players .. semi even playing field nobody is high level with epic drops etc .. the pvp is much more fun and engaging
you please the pve crowd by .. having a flag or an option to opt-in and opt-out of pvp but gear and levels is taking into account .. so a level 80 pver with epic dungeon loots will ultimately 1 shot a level 20 pvper with generic loot
Either way you piss of a lot of people, one day I'm sure some obsure indy game will figure this out instead of having queues for battlegrounds or seperate instanced pvp battles .. but this scaling thing right now is not enjoyable
Either you play long extended periods of time to obtain decent loot and levels only for it all to be meaningless in a fight .. or higher levels roam lower level areas destroying everyone flagged lower level w/o epic gear .. either way it's gonna suck
I find this incredibly good game design. levels should give you an edge, you should not be a health sponge if you're higher level than me, only more lethal. good design tbh, yeah he probably has only dps gear on and quests can give you better things. i never used any pvp armor or weapon because i got better from questing.
Literally the game punishes you for your dedication.
Also your weapon needs to be close to your target. The Spear is known for hitting mobs/players from a distance.
How is your stats attributes?
What skills are you using? Did you have a weapon tree costumized to pvp? Or did you have a totally PVE build trying to fight in pvp?
'gearscore' doesnt mean ♥♥♥♥ if the armor you are wearing has all the wrong stats. Its the STATS on the armor that will determine your weapon damage. Its your own skill in dodging / attacking / movement that will determine how much you hit the enemy and you avoid enemy damage.
The only thing that gearscore does, is get you likely better gear drops for your lvl.
Also you have a PVP build for your weapon and a PVE build for your weapon.
The way most figured the scaling works, is a light attack from a lower level player would take 10%-15% of the persons health, as tested thus far.
Basically a lower level players is doing +% based damage, where as the higher level player hitting the lower level player, is -% based damage. Anyone can test this and see for themselves in the game once it's back up.
