Will this game brick my 1080? I thought I heard only the RTX cards are effected, Just checking before I buy it..

No, its only affecting some rtx 3080 and 3090 especially evga and gigabyte. Also some amd high end cards are affected, got a PNY rtx 2070 and no problems

I'm also worried for my GTX 980, even if my pc should be safe because it's a laptop, i'm waiting a little more, to see if some poeple with the same GPU had problems or not

Get over your self, 600k+ people are playing every day for 2 weeks straight with all types of gpus. I have friends with 970s,980s, 1060s, 1050, no problems at all. Stop reading into memes so hard

Gtx 1080 FTW runs extremely cool with low voltage compared to 90% of the games I play. Just make sure the GPU fan is on.

I'm playing fine 50-75fps all max out 2560x1080
R7 3700x
32GB
GTX zotac AMP 1080

All temps on GPU and CPU are around 75, i live in a hot country, but it's running fine, no suttering or any other issue

absolute dog **** fps on my 3070 starting this morning after doing 0 changes to my pc or game. 10 fps in settlements right now with 30-40 fps outside of them. was getting 165 fps almost consistently up until this morning.

Currently playing with a 1080. no problems. The problem with some cards is that the fps can run wild if the card is strong enough and its not capped. The card just tries to push as much as it can until it brick, but if you just put on vsync it cant.

I read this discussion and installed windows 11 to make full use of the latest Geforce driver. last night My GPU and CPU have been running quietly ever since. Temp and Load all normal. It seems that you need to install windows 11 and the latest graphics driver to avoid bricking Geforce GPUs. Again, My experience only applies to 1080 model. I can't say the same for other GPU models.

Yes my GPU and CPU was running hot and noisy before upgrading to windows 11.

I have a 1080ti and no problems at all with the game. I'm running at max graphic settings at 3440x1440.

As a matter of fact you're safer with a 1080, even runs better than on my new 3090 that had to cap to 60 fps. There's something terrible about this game's optimization.

nope, it only turns 30 series into paperweights/bricks. your low end GPU is safe.

Actually, this game gives steadier fps on a 1080ti than a 3090. I'm starting to believe it's not only EVGA or Amazon's fault, they scammed us with 30xxx series, they're cheap garabage gpus compared to previous generations.
