2 steam accounts and 2 games on one PC
HI, is it possible to buy two copies of the game and run 2 steam accounts at the same time on one pc?
Other games can run the same game twice together but can steam or are there restrictions/problems doing so?

Thx

Check the TOS / EULA for limitations on Multi-Boxing. There may also be unknown consequences related to two instance coming from the same IP address. EAC may also get involved.

And Steam itself may or may not allow it.

Most MMOs today officially do not allow Multi-Boxing. You will have to research it.

This would likely be bannable under the very vague ToS.

So if I used one on my pc and one on my laptop would they have the same IP address?

I mean, you could have children with their own pcs and everyone playing at the same time which I reckon is fine but they may show as the same IP. I think Steam cannot be too hard on this issue. Limiting one game per household makes no sense.

Unknown consequences for two instances coming from the same IP? Lol. Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Do you really think Amazon would make an MMO that didn't support multiple players coming from the same NAT'd IP address? That would essentially eliminate this game being played at many colleges where they NAT to a single IP. Personally we are a three player household that plays from the same IP with no issues.

its either using a virtual machine, or using 2 OS on one machine or using 2 machines. Thats your choices.

If I remember correctly, this can be done. But it needs specific permission from Valve that you have to apply to get. My memory may be faulty on this, so don't take it as truth.

Could always try it out with some other Steam games you have. :)

I seriously consider reporting the OP

...to the based department.

You most certainly can, because i have my account and my son has his. When i am not using my pc he jumps on mine and logs into his account. Being the game is already installed you only have to point it to the location it is installed, so need to have two installations of the same game.

I literally play with my son, who sits in the same room as me, all the time. Never had a problem.

One other thing to take into consideration is some children have to share a computer with their brother or sister and each have a account.
