dps is usually the MMO way of calling it.
so its not only my server. its the NW community being rather new to mmorpgs.
What's fun is that players get upset when you explain them the difference.
wow players use DPS too ... and that game is 15+ years old.
i think DAoC players used DD for a time (don't quote me on that)? but that term mostly disappear from the MMO genre.
which mmo did you play to see people use it recently?
The usage of "DD" as shorthand for 'Damage Done' was before the onset of MMOs. DPS was used in Everquest (1) back in 1999, and maybe before that.
The correct usage in all previous mmos was DD if you were looking for a class for the role of dealing damage.
dps is the equivalent of km/h when discussing a car.
But if you need an cabrio or a stationwaggon you dont call: LF km/h.
I just find it funny cause not manny seem to notice.
And people getting rather upset fast when you mention it. *shrug*
Guess second
But to help out. the most used 3rd partytool in early WoW was namend: DPS Meter
So ... no Op, no.
But they were called Reccount or Skada, not dps meter.
So sorry but you're wrong.
